In this picture.
I resurrected .
I came alive.
A new me was birthed.
I walked this path lonely, broken and battered.
I persevered.
I got swollen legs.
Knife divided my index and middle fingers into two.
One day as i was going to my university, I missed my way.
I had preclampsia and was sick for two years.
The enemy knew I was born to win.
He has been mad.
I refused to shift my gaze from God.
Some people called me church rat.
I cried when I needed to.
I still smiled without showing my pain.
I was nursing my sick mom.
I never looked like what I was going through.
In all these , my heart kept beating for God.
EL ROI showed me mercy.
EL ROI rewrote my story.
EL ROI saw me.
My testimony from this journey keeps winning souls for God.
His Grace is on me.
I love you God, your mercies have never failed me.

When a Nation Neglects Its Educators

The federal government has never paused to ask why our universities continue to churn out half-baked graduates.

The answer lies not in the students, but in the system that undervalues those who shape their minds the lecturers.

A well-paid lecturer has no reason to chase multiple side hustles.

When an educator is adequately rewarded, they can dedicate their time and intellect fully to teaching, research, and mentorship.

But when salaries are poor and working conditions discouraging, survival instincts take over.

Many are forced to juggle extra jobs just to make ends meet, and inevitably, something suffers.

The result is a silent tragedy in our lecture halls, diminished teaching quality, abandoned research, and disillusioned students.

The ultimate victims are the young people whose futures depend on a sound education.

No nation that takes education and the educators who drive it for granted will ever progress.

A country that neglects its teachers is one that chooses to crawl when it could soar.

It is time for the government to understand that investing in lecturers is not charity; it is nation-building.

Honestly, my write up is not directed at anyone.

I am only highlighting the systemic failure that forces lecturers into side hustles not blaming the individuals themselves.

In fact, many lecturers will likely agree with me and even appreciate my courage to write this truth.

If the government has ears let them hear. Ife nile ghasara aghasa ( things are no longer okay).

Parenthood Is Presence, Not Just Provision

Parenthood is far more than paying school fees, it is showing up.
Many people ask why I am so close to my dad. The answer is simple: he was present.

My dad bought me my first makeup kit.
He taught me to chase my vision before anything else.
He would explain every step of his work as an administrator so I could learn.
I know his childhood stories, teenage adventures, and even his “toasting” escapades because he shared them openly while my mum laughed in the background.

When we were sick, we became celebrities. He would spoil us with care and kindness.
He is a master of English and Igbo — his grammar is legendary.
I wasn’t born during the Nigerian Civil War, yet I narrate war stories vividly because my parents were intentional storytellers.

Dear Parents, Be Present

Some fathers do not even know the cost of their children’s clothes.
Some girls still use wrappers during their menstrual cycle because no one taught or prepared them.
When mothers travel, many daughters suffer in silence.
Yet tomorrow, these same absentee parents will boldly say, “I trained them.” Trained how?

Dear Fathers, you are meant to be a light.
Teach your daughter the tricks men use so she is not deceived.
Teach your son how to be kind, respectful, and responsible.
You cannot give what you do not have — if you are bitter and unkind, what legacy will you pass on?

It’s the Little Things That Count

Have you ever:

Bought sanitary pads or toiletries for your children?

Helped with homework willingly?

Remembered their birthdays and celebrated them?

These “little things” are what make you a present parent.
I can spend hours on the phone with my dad today because he invested more than money he invested himself.

It’s Not Too Late to Change

Check your circle. Many fathers and mothers keep irresponsible friends who don’t value family. Detach from them ka i baa uru (so it will benefit you).

Don’t scroll past this write-up and do nothing.
Go and make amends. Be the kind of parent that your children will be proud to celebrate in public.

Because only finished fathers and mothers — the ones who gave more than school fees — will truly reap the rewards of parenthood.

Ekwusigom. I have spoken.

Walking in Wisdom, Powered by the Spirit

Every child of God is designed to rule on the earth not as victims of circumstance but as kings and priests endowed with divine wisdom (Romans 8:15).

The Holy Spirit is not just a comforter; He is the custodian of enlightenment, granting us access to the spirit of wisdom (Ephesians 1:17).

Without Him, human reasoning remains limited and earthly, but with Him, we rise into wisdom from above pure, peaceable, and powerful (James 3:15–17).

There are three major channels through which we access God’s wisdom:

1. Receiving Jesus Christ into our lives — just as He grew “in wisdom and stature” (Luke 2:52), so do we.

2. Feeding on the Word of God — “Your commands make me wiser than my enemies” (Psalm 119:98).

3. Impartation by the Holy Spirit — He breathes understanding, insight, and divine intelligence into our spirit (1 Corinthians 2:13).

A man or woman of wisdom cannot be ignored or discarded (Daniel 5:11–12). Wisdom distinguishes. Wisdom positions. Wisdom preserves.

A Covenant of Freedom

God has called us into a life of total liberty not just salvation from sin but freedom from negativity, reproach, bo***ge, repeated cycles, and internal limitations (Psalm 51:13, John 8:32). But freedom is not passive, I have a role to play in my freedom.

To stay free:

Guard your mind fiercely.

Maintain a victorious mentality.

Feed daily on the Word.

Walk in the love of God as a lifestyle.

Sustain the joy of the Lord.

Engage the violence of faith (Matthew 11:12).

Prayer Declaration

Dear Lord, make me a solution bearer. Clothe me with wisdom. Cause kings and magnates to come to the brightness of my rising. I refuse to be small. I walk in divine freedom and supernatural insight — for I am born of God and led by His Spirit. Amen.

Career and Professional Development: A Journey, Not a Destination

In today’s fast-paced world, building a career goes beyond simply earning a degree or securing a job.

True growth comes from continuous learning, deliberate networking, and the courage to embrace new challenges.

My journey has been a testament to this truth. As a , , and , I have come to appreciate that and is not a one-time achievement, it is a lifelong process.

Every stage of my journey, from conducting research in parasitology to teaching and mentoring students, has stretched me, sharpened my skills, and expanded my vision.

Serving as Head of Department of Biology, I have seen how leadership is not about titles but about inspiring collaboration, nurturing talent, and driving innovation.

As the Coordinator of OWSD AE-FUNAI, I have had the privilege of creating opportunities for women in STEM, partnering with the Ministry of Health for public health advocacy, and showing young women that their dreams are valid.

And in my current role as Chairman of the Ebonyi State Technical Action Committee on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), I am reminded daily that true professional growth is tied to service, service to institutions, to communities, and to the nation.

These experiences have reinforced one lesson: career development is not just about personal success, it is about impact.

The real measure of growth lies in how much value we create for others: inspiring students to dream bigger, mentoring young professionals to take bold steps, and contributing to policies and solutions that improve lives.

To every professional and young graduate reading this, I encourage you: take ownership of your growth.

Invest in yourself, seek out mentors, say yes to opportunities, and never underestimate the power of resilience. Your journey may not always be smooth, but every step will prepare you for the greater impact you are meant to make.

Career and professional development is indeed a journey, and the world is waiting for professionals who are not just competent, but also visionary.

Let’s continue to learn, lead, and lift others as we grow together.

This is for everyone seeking for my services in career and professional development.

When Will Nigeria Value Its Lecturers?

In Nigeria, lecturers are too often treated with ridicule by successive governments. The very people entrusted with shaping the nation’s future training doctors, engineers, scientists, leaders, and innovators are dismissed, underpaid, and ignored.

For years, the welfare of university lecturers has remained static, even as inflation keeps skyrocketing and the cost of living pushes families into hardship. While prices of food, housing, and basic necessities rise daily, lecturers’ pay and benefits have remained stagnant forcing many into debt and despair.

Yet, these same lecturers are the backbone of Nigeria’s universities. They carry the weight of research, mentorship, and knowledge transfer, often with little or no support.

Despite their meagre stipend, lecturers still carry out research and publish their findings to the world. But the reality is cruel most reputable journals charge as high as £500, $500, or more just to publish. Many resort to journals that accept payments, not because of choice, but because promotion and career progression depend on publication.

Ikegwuru. It took me seven years before I got a table and chair in my office. And I do not even want to begin with the importance of a functional university system, because at this point, my welfare is more important than lofty promises.

For years, we have been singing about the “revitalization of the university system.” Who cares? Why will they care, when the children of those in power all study overseas? Every public university in Nigeria is supposed to have a functional molecular laboratory, yet we keep “managing” without, while other countries move ahead in innovation. Ga jukwanu ese other places.

And so, the brain drain continues. The brightest minds those who could transform our economy, health system, and technology are leaving in droves. They seek greener pastures abroad, where their expertise is valued and their dignity is preserved.

One day, when our universities stand empty and our classrooms echo with silence, the government will realize the irreversible damage done to education. By then, the cost will not just be lost talent, but a generation robbed of quality learning and a nation stripped of innovation. Sometimes, I wonder if they care.

My advice to our lecturers
*Make sure you carry out research that can solve the nation's problems. Problem obodo a kaririakari.

*Do a research that will provide a product.
Research is deep learning and seeking of answers.

*Don't let your dissertation stay on your book shelf or university bookshelf after your Postgraduate studies.

*It's time to wear our gowns to the town.

Nigeria, wake up. Respect your lecturers. Invest in education. Protect the future.

Because without strong universities, there is no strong nation.

I am just a concerned citizen.

Chioma Ogochukwu Anorue.

Yesterday was remarkable for me as I stepped aside as the Branch Coordinator of Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) in my prestigious university Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-alike Ebonyi State Nigeria.

This is to help me carry out my duty as the new South East Coordinator of OWSD Nigeria.

The new branch coordinator of my university is Dr. Modesta Egwu-Ikechukwu.

As I handed over the baton to she and her executives, I charged them up to do more as women in science.

OWSD AEFUNAI will continue to bring visibility to our university through our numerous activities and our research impacts.

It feels good to be the Pioneer Chairperson of Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World OWSD in AEFUNAI.

In my next write up, I will breakdown my activities for the past four years.

Ebonyi State felt my impact as a STEM woman and more of my impact will be felt as the South East Coordinator of OWSD Nigeria.

Ebonyi State has salted my life beautifully.

It takes collaboration for more to be done.

One love 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕
