I thought I was dressing to impress Jesus, but He came for my mindset instead ๐

After removing some accessories to impress Jesus today ๐
, I entered the church like someone expecting an official job letter from heavenโs HR ๐. Thatโs how ready I was.
But then todayโs Gospel (Luke 16:1โ16) humbled me. Jesus talked about the dishonest servant who, despite his flaws, was at least smart enough to secure his future after being dismissed. Then came that heavy line:
๐ โFor the sons of this world are shrewder in dealing with their own kind than the sons of lightโ (Luke 16:8).
It hit me. We put so much effort into hustling, networking, packaging, and building wealthโฆ but when it comes to building character, integrity, or eternal life, we sometimes reduce the energy like Sunday rice without meat ๐ฅฒ.
Hereโs the lesson:
โ
Standards are expensive.
โ
Standards can be lonely.
โ
Standards are not always immediately rewarding.
But hear me, standards pay. Because one day, when opportunities come knocking, only those who have consistently maintained their standard will be ready to open the door.
As we enter this new week, keep your standards. Even when nobody claps ๐. Even when results are slow. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep upgrading yourself. Because success, both in life and in eternity, has a way of showing up suddenly, and only the prepared can handle it.
This week, walk with FUTURE boldly stamped on your forehead, ambition in your pocket, and optimism in your steps ๐. Maintain your standard and let grace do the rest.
Happy Sunday โค๏ธ. May this week favor our effort and our faith.
If this spoke to you, drop an Amen ๐ and share with someone who needs the reminder.
