The Baby I Raised Wasn't Mine, But the Truth Was Even More Devastating.
Episode 15

The package slipped from my hands.
Two toy cars.
One belonged to Daniel.
The other belonged to David.
And beneath them...
A single signature.
MOTHER.
The room was so quiet I could hear my own heartbeat.
Gabriel slowly sat down.
His hands were trembling.
"I prayed I would never hear that name again."
I looked at him.
"Who is she?"
He closed his eyes.
"Her real name is Margaret Cole."
"But everyone who worked for her called her only one thing..."
'Mother.'
"Who is she?" I asked again.
Gabriel's voice grew heavy.
"She wasn't just a kidnapper."
"She ran one of the biggest child trafficking networks in the country."
My blood ran cold.
"They stole children..."
"...changed their identities..."
"...and sold them to powerful families."
I covered my mouth.
"So the baby swap..."
Gabriel nodded.
"Was her signature."
"She didn't just steal babies."
"She erased their entire lives."
Just then, the police commissioner burst into the room.
"We've traced the package."
I jumped to my feet.
"Where did it come from?"
He looked at me.
"An abandoned convent."
Gabriel froze.
"No..."
"The Black Rose Convent."
The commissioner nodded.
"You know it?"
Gabriel's face turned pale.
"That's where Mother built her empire."
Without wasting another second...
We drove there.
The old convent stood alone on a hill.
Broken windows.
Cracked walls.
Overgrown weeds surrounded the entrance.
It looked abandoned.
But something felt wrong.
Very wrong.
As we stepped inside...
Children's laughter echoed through the hallway.
I froze.
"Did you hear that?"
The commissioner nodded.
"But there's no one here."
The laughter stopped.
Then...
A woman's voice echoed through the building.
"Welcome home, Grace."
Every officer raised their weapons.
"Who's there?"
Slow footsteps echoed from upstairs.
One...
Two...
Three...
An elderly woman dressed in a long black gown appeared at the top of the staircase.
Her silver hair rested neatly on her shoulders.
Her eyes were calm.
Almost motherly.
She smiled at me.
"I've waited twenty-five years for this moment."
My heart pounded.
"You..."
"Are Mother."
She bowed slightly.
"I prefer Margaret."
I wanted to run toward her.
I wanted to scream.
Instead, I asked one question.
"Why?"
Her smile faded.
"Because your life was never yours."
I frowned.
"What does that mean?"
She slowly descended the staircase.
"When you were born..."
"...you became the key to a fortune."
"When you turned three..."
"...you became a threat."
I looked at Gabriel.
He seemed just as confused.
Margaret laughed softly.
"Victor never understood."
"He thought money was the prize."
"He was wrong."
She stopped directly in front of me.
"The real prize..."
"...was you."
Suddenly...
Daniel's voice echoed through the building.
"Mum!"
I spun around.
"Daniel!"
He was standing inside an iron cage.
David was beside him.
Both boys were unharmed.
I rushed toward them.
Before I could reach them...
The floor beneath me clicked.
CLICK!
Margaret smiled.
"Don't move."
The commissioner looked down.
"It's a pressure mine!"
One wrong step...
And the entire room would explode.
Margaret calmly walked toward the boys.
She unlocked the cage.
Daniel and David immediately ran toward me.
"No!" I shouted.
But Margaret stopped them.
"Not yet."
She looked at Daniel.
"Tell Grace what you've been hiding."
Daniel lowered his head.
Tears rolled down his face.
"Mum..."
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
He pulled something from inside his jacket.
A small recorder.
"I've been recording everything Victor and Mother said."
My eyes widened.
"You have evidence?"
He nodded.
"I was pretending to obey them."
"So I could protect David."
I hugged him tightly.
"My brave boy..."
Margaret clapped slowly.
"Very clever."
"But not clever enough."
She snapped her fingers.
Suddenly...
More than twenty armed men surrounded us.
The commissioner whispered,
"We're trapped."
Margaret smiled.
"I've spent thirty years planning this day."
She looked directly at me.
"Now..."
"It's time you learned the final truth."
She turned toward Gabriel.
"Tell her."
Gabriel's eyes filled with tears.
"I can't."
"You must."
"I won't."
Margaret sighed.
"Very well."
She looked back at me.
"The man standing beside you..."
"...is not your father."
The world stopped.
"No..."
"That's impossible."
Margaret smiled.
"The DNA report wasn't fake."
"It was switched."
She reached into her pocket and threw a sealed envelope onto the floor.
"The real DNA results."
The commissioner carefully picked it up.
He broke the seal.
His eyes widened.
He slowly looked at me.
Then at Gabriel.
Then back at the report.
His voice shook.
"Grace..."
"This changes everything."
I could barely breathe.
"What does it say?"
The commissioner swallowed hard.
Then read the final line aloud.
"Probability of paternity: 0.00%."
Gabriel wasn't my father.
Helena wasn't my mother.
Victor wasn't my family.
Everything...
Everything I had believed over the last few days...
Was another lie.
Margaret smiled triumphantly.
Then she whispered the words that left everyone speechless.
"Your real parents..."
"...are both standing in this room."
