MAWLĀNĀ SHEIKH SOLIUDEEN ADIO OLORUNSEYE (AL-ʿĀRIF AS-SAMADĀNĪ)

He dedicated his entire life to the service of Allah, the pursuit of sacred knowledge, and the spiritual guidance of countless souls. Through wisdom, devotion, humility, and unwavering commitment to the path of truth, he became a beacon of light and inspiration to many generations.

Though he has departed from this temporary world, his legacy of faith, learning, and righteousness continues to live on in the hearts of those he taught, inspired, and nurtured.

May Allah, the Most Merciful, envelop him in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings, illuminate his grave with divine light, and grant him the highest station in Al-Jannah among the righteous.

Let us all offer sincere prayers for this legendary icon and noble servant of Allah.

‎اللهم اغفر للشيخ صالح الدين العارف الصمداني، وارحمه رحمةً واسعة، واجعل قبره روضةً من رياض الجنة، وارفع درجاته في عليين، وأكرمه بالفردوس الأعلى مع النبيين والصديقين والش هداء والصالحين، يا أرحم الراحمين.

Sometimes, what you initially resist or dislike may later reveal itself as one of the greatest gifts in your life—if only you are patient enough to trust Allah’s wisdom. Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:

﴿فَعَسَىٰ أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْـًٔا وَيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًۭا كَثِيرًۭا﴾
“Perhaps you dislike a thing, while Allah has placed much goodness within it.”

When Angel Jibrīl عليه السلام gave the divine announcement to our mother Maryam عليها السلام that she would bear a son, her initial response was one of fear and distress. Overwhelmed by the weight of the trial, she wished she had passed away before it and been forgotten. This reaction reflects the very human struggle that often accompanies moments of divine testing.

Yet, when Maryam عليها السلام surrendered to Allah’s decree with patience and trust, that which once caused her anguish became her greatest honor. Her son, Prophet Isa عليه السلام, was not only a miraculous sign for all of humanity but also one of the Ulu al-ʿAzm—the greatest prophets endowed with exceptional perseverance.

When life presents you with circumstances you do not understand or accept, do not rush to despair. Meet hardship with patience, trust Allah’s wisdom, and remain steadfast in faith. What feels heavy today may, in time, become the very means through which Allah elevates you and brings immense good into your life.
