'Snack plug Chronicles'

The school bell hadn’t even finished ringing when Jamal “JJ” Carter unzipped his backpack.

Inside? Power. Crunchy, sugary, salty, brightly packaged power.

“Yo, JJ!” Malik whispered, sliding up beside him like a spy. “You got any Hot Cheetos?”

JJ nodded, scanning the hall like a pro. “That’s two bucks. Or trade me that Gatorade and throw in fifty cents.”

Malik didn’t hesitate. In this school, snack money was currency. JJ was the plug. And unlike the busted vending machines or the overpriced cafeteria, JJ delivered.

He wasn’t always like this. Two months ago, he was just another kid with scuffed sneakers, a too-loud stomach in 4th period, and no way to fix either.

That all changed on a rainy Tuesday.

JJ remembered it clear as day. He was walking home, dodging puddles, when he saw it: an unopened 12-pack of mini Oreos sitting in a tipped-over grocery bag by a trash bin. Not stolen. Not touched. Just lost.

He picked it up like it was gold.

The next morning, he brought them to school and shared one pack with a kid named Eric.

By lunchtime, Eric had told five friends. By 3:00 PM, JJ had sold the other 11 packs for $1 each.

And just like that, Snack Plug was born.
