I finally went to see Zuma Rock by chance and let me just say this—pictures have been lying to us 😭
Because how is one rock just standing there like it paid rent for the whole of Abuja and its surroundings??
As we were getting closer, I kept staring like… “Wait… is this a rock or a whole personality?” 😂
The thing is not small. It’s not medium. It is majestic with confidence. Like it knows it’s important and nobody can argue.
Now, let’s talk about the famous gist—
That “Zuma Rock is full of water inside” theory.
My dear, Nigerians will not let mystery rest 😭
Some people were saying it with full chest like they’ve personally fetched a bucket from inside the rock.
“Ah, that rock ehn, na water full am. If e burst, Abuja go turn Atlantis.”
At that point I just kept quiet because what if it’s true? 😂
Because honestly, the way the rock stands so solid and calm, you’ll think it’s hiding secrets. Deep ones.
It could be true though,the bible says in Ps 114 vs 8.
Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, [8] who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water🙏🙏
And then someone pointed out the natural face on the rock… and I said okay, now I understand why our ancestors respected things properly 😭
Because how do you explain a rock that looks like it’s looking at you back??
But jokes aside, standing there in front of Zuma Rock, something just hits you—
This is not ordinary.
No engineer stacked it.
No human designed it.
No cement, no scaffolding, no “come back tomorrow.”
Just God saying, “Let me show you small of what I can do.”
Because really, how does something so massive, so perfectly placed, just exist like that?
It humbles you.
You start thinking… if God can create something this powerful, this detailed, this breathtaking… then what about you?
What about the things He’s working out in your life that you don’t even understand yet?
Zuma Rock isn’t just a tourist spot.
It’s a reminder.
That God is intentional.
That He is creative beyond human imagination.
And that sometimes, the things we don’t understand (like “water inside rock” 😄) are just part of the mystery that makes His creation even more beautiful.
