AWARDS OF RECOGNITIONz:

For one to be recognised on his/her hard work in the form of a medal of honor or some graceful awards is the best moment to reckon with. Just imagine that you are a poet receiving the Medal of Honor award for the inspirational poem you shared. Just imagine you are an artist receiving an award of excellence for your beautiful work of art. This is the ecstasy involved when a cerebral legislator; a towering spokesperson and high enterprising congressman get awards for his phenomenal law-making prowess and humanitarianism. Being told you're appreciated is one of the simplest and most uplifting things you can hear of yourself. It is also one of the most moralising things your followers can bank on. As such, gratitude is not only one of the greatest virtues but parent of all others. It spurs the recipient to do more and boosts the confidence of followers. Awards (sequential as the ones given to Senator Mao Ohuabunwa) are reminders that diligent work pays off.

In the light of the foregoing, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has received several awards of honor indicating and pointing to his immense contribution and silence achievements which he has done for humanity. Yes, he does not blow his own trumpet and he does not make public show of his achievements. Yet, beneficiaries and recipients of his benevolence and in fact, Nigerian masses never ceased to show their appreciation mostly through awards and plaques.

After sponsoring the National Centre for Cancer Research and Treatment Bill (SB10) which was passed into law in 2015 upon his innaguration into the Senate, he became a darling to the masses and the vulnerable. It took dexterity of a prepared mind to hit the ground running in his first year in the Senate. This people-centric law garnered appreciation from people around the world, which spurred PROJECT PINK BLUE in a red carpet (at the Transcop Hotels) to honour him with "Legend of Cancer Award" in 2018. This was in recognition of outstanding committment and significant contribution to Cancer control in Nigeria. Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, a seasoned legislator who knows his onion continued to churn out bills that impacted people's life. They include;

With these barrage of bills, awards of honor rained on Ancient Mao;
The Nigerian Youth Parliament, Abia North District conferred on him Patron Award in recognition of his contribution towards the development of Abia North and effective representation of the region in the 8th Senate. At the Abia North Roundtable and Recognition Awards, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa was given an 'Award of Excellence' in recognition of his relentless efforts and numerous contributions to the development of Abia State and Nigeria. The Church was not left out in the recognition as St Paul's Presbyterian Church Ogborhill Aba presented him award as A KINGDOM BUILDER in recognition of his partnership with the Church. Also Christ Ascension Church, Good Women Fellowship gave him a prestigious award as KINGDOM AMBASSADOR in further recognition of his Godly disposition and goodwill. Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocease of Umuahia, Bethel Circuit honoured him as FRIEND OF THE CHURCH in recognition and appreciation of his sacrifice to the Church and humanity. The Order of Knights of St Mulumba Nigeria, Matar Amabilis Sub-Council gave Senator Mao an Award of Honour in recognition of his philanthropy and service to humanity. That was also in appreciation to his immense contribution towards the growth of the universal Church and Christianity. In another development, Christ Pentecostal Kingdom Inc also presented an award of Excellence to Senator Mao as the PEOPLE'S VOICE in recognition of his sacrificial services to God and humanity. At the Aro Day on the 10th December, 2022, the Nzuko Arochukwu, Umuahia branch presented a special award as PILLAR OF SUPPORT to Ancient Mao for his selfless services to Aro Kingdom and humanity. Isuikwuato Development Union, Lagos branch gave him Pillar of Development award. Ututu Development Association, Aba Branch gave award as UGEGBE NDI UTUTU. Also towards the end of 2022, he was recognised at Izara Afa - another award of honour in recognition of his people-friendly programs in and around Abia.

Looking at the Bills to his credit, some of them were at the First Reading and others Awaiting Committee Report. It is therefore safe to affirm that upon reelection this time round, he is sure to see that these bills on transit sees the light of the day.

So, Ndi Abia North, let us vote Mao to continue with the good legislative excellence he started for Abia State and Ndi Igbo in general.

A MAN FOR ALL SEASON: _SEN. MAO OHUABUNWA_ FOLLOW BETTER

Learning they say is a continuous process and because no man is an island of knowledge, the quest to acquire more of it becomes the zest of any man who wishes to write his name in gold.

It is based on the above premise that Sen Mao Ohuabunwa,PDP Candidate for Abia North has invested much energy in seeing that the educational system of Abia North Senatorial District is top-noch in his agenda when elected. He has kick started the process by commencing the Reconstruction of a class room block at Umuaku Secondary school In Umunneochi , in a bid further broaden the educational horizon of our dear student because a conducive learning environment enhances the upbringing of students, so as for them to performance credibly.

As a lawmaker, Sen Mao Ohuabunwa is called DG AMENDMENTS by colleagues has distinguished himself from his peers by constantly being ahead in all ramification, especially when it comes to service delivery to his Senatorial District.

The fact that Follow Better is ever ready to unlearn, relearn and learn is a clear indication of his flexibility as well as ability to adjust/fit into the ever changing legislative environment.

Sen Mao has been speaking, is still speaking and ready to continue speaking for the good people of Abia North especially in this precarious security challenging situation, no word can perfectly describe this rare chartered politician than, A MAN FOR ALL SEASON.

SENATOR MAO IS A MAN WITH A GOOD HEART

No matter what his detractors and his political opponents may say or write about him, the fact remains that Distinguished Senator Mao Ohuabunwa is a compassionate leader who has touched many lives directly and indirectly.

Recently and precisely on the 1st of January 2023, the Arochukwu born refined Lawmaker handed over houses he built for an indigent widow and a vicarage for Anglican Church in Arochukwu. This gesture has been a recurring antecedent of a man who loves to put smile on the faces of people through his philanthropic activities and humane disposition.

It will be recalled that Sen Mao Ohuabunwa had promised to build a house for Mrs Mercy Ejiofor, an indigent widow from Atani village in Aro clan of Arochukwu LGA after he visited home during the rainy season and discovered that the woman was living in a dilapidated house with a leaky roof. During that period, he instantly approved a cheque of 2 million naira to start the project. To the glory of God, the house has been completed and handed over to Mrs Ejiofor who couldn't withhold her excitement.

In a related development, the former Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament saw the need to build a vicarage for his home church, St Matthew's Anglican Church where he previously constructed a befitting edifice in form of cathedral for worshippers, in addition to the cathedral, he embarked on building a vicarage and the house has been also completed and handed over to the church.

In conclusion, Distinguished Senator Mao Ohuabunwa can be described as a man with heart of gold due to his numerous kind gestures even though he doesn't like publicising such activities but it is pertinent that we inform the public about some of his benevolent attitude to deconstruct some wrong impression created by detractors.

ABIA NORTH APC ACCUSES SEN. ORJI OF ANTI PARTY, ADOPTS SEN. OHUABUNWA

Some leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia North senatorial zone under the aegis of Concerned Abia North All Progrssive Congress (APC), have withdrawn its support for the candidacy of Senator Orji Kalu in the coming 2023 election.

This was conveyed in a press statement signed by its Secretary, Kingsley Okorie and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Umuahia.

The group accused the Chief Whip of the Senate of anti-party activities, lack of representation of the interests of the people of Abia North. They stated that the former governor is only campaigning for himself and his younger brother that is running for governor under APP.

During the same press conference, they insisted that they will vote against Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, but will vote other APC candidates including High Chief Ikechi Emenike.

They further revealed that Sen. Orji is behind all the internal crisis in the party as he has made every attempt to resolve the issues impossible.

We the concerned members of Abia North All Progressive Congress (APC), have henceforth, withdrawn our support for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for the following reasons:

It’s no longer news that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is self-serving and very selfish. His sole interest led him to float the APP party in order to support his younger brother’s governorship ambition. Why will he be in APC and be indirectly supporting his brother to become Governor in APP against the APC governorship interest? Such attitude is totally condemnable and inimical to the growth and interest of our party, the APC.

The same Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is the brain behind all the crisis in Abia APC and he cannot deny it. We challenge him to show proof of the last time he attended any APC event in Abia yet he is occupying a high position in the Senate with the platform of the party. Where then is his love or care for the party?

Due to his grandstanding and self-serving tendencies, he is bent on destroying APC in Abia. He is busy telling his constituents not to vote for APC during the governorship election. He wants them to vote APC only in the presidential and national assembly elections but APP in the governorship poll. This is the height of selfishness.

We are also disappointed that since he went to the Senate, Abia North has not been well represented at the upper legislative chamber. Our voice is rarely heard, and when it is heard it will be a comic relief. He has equally not shown enough interest in championing the cause of Abia North. Instead, he is busy pursuing shadows and championing other causes that will benefit safeguard his political interest.

Consequent upon the above and other anti-party activities of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, we have decided to withdraw our support for him. This decision was reached after he failed to repent of his bad ways. He snubbed several appeals to him to stop his anti-party activities.

As Concerned APC members, we cannot fold our arms and allow things to keep getting bad. We have over 20,000 dedicated members and field soldiers in our fold.

We, hereby, state our resolve to work against his second term bid. We will not allow him to be using our collective mandate to ruin our future. Enough is enough. We cannot support a self-centred individual whose stock in trade is to constantly cause confusion everywhere he goes.

We feel that time has also come for a more patriotic person who truly loves Abia North to represent the zone in the Senate. Abia North cannot afford to be represented again by an individual who is always seeking his own selfish interest at the detriment of the entire zone’s interest.

Having looked at the antecedents of all the senatorial candidates for Abia North in all the political parties, we have decided to support Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Today, we adopt and declare our total support for Senator Ohuabunwa. He needs to return to the Senate to give Abia North a better representation.

Political desperados behind fabricated campaign poster report against Ohuabunwa - Campaign Council

The attention of the Campaign Council of the Most Distinguished Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, has been drawn to a planted fictitious social media report about a purported warning by Abia North monarchs against Ohuabunwa pasting his campaign posters on projects and streetlight attracted by a certain senator that we don't want to dignify by mentioning his name.

According to the infantile, ridiculous and mischievous report, the purported monarchs' warning was contained in a statement by one amorphous HRH Kalu Obasi who claimed that Senator Ohuabunwa's action "is capable of causing civil unrest amongst party faithful and communities in Abia North, and thus disrupt the peace currently being enjoyed in the zone."

In as much as it's not our intention to dignify the hungry and shameless peddlers of this fallacious report and their desperate paymaster, we, would however, want to remind the good people of Abia North that the forces holding the zone down are exploring all options to possibly stay afloat.

In the first place, it is not to our knowledge that traditional rulers in Abia North under any guise met or authorized any press statement to be issued on their behalf against any action of Senator Ohuabunwa or his teeming supporters that is capable of causing any breach of the peace in the zone.

Neither Senator Ohuabunwa nor his teeming supporters have taken any action capable of causing security breach in the zone in the course of his electioneering campaigns which have been peaceful. He is a peace lover and promoter, and will continue to go about his campaigns peacefully.

Assuming but not conceding that the traditional rulers met or directed that any statement be made, their leadership is not in doubt and they have a channel of communication one of which is not via an unknown Kalu Obasi.

It's quite shameful that the so-called Kalu Obasi and his imaginary monarchs are purportedly endorsing a senator that has already been roundly rejected by the vast majority of Abia North for bringing shame and ridicule to the zone.

It's only the likes of Kalu Obasi that know where the said streetlights and imaginary projects by their so-called performing senator are located. We are not surprised that obviously due to the prevailing economic hardship some characters without conscience can shamelessly do anything for a piece of bread.

We are not also aware of any resolution by Abia North monarchs for Senator Ohuabunwa to step down for any other senatorial candidate in the forthcoming election. Rather, what we have seen is swelling support and continued endorsements of Ohuabunwa's candidature by various stakeholders in Abia North including the traditional institution.

Just recently, the entire traditional rulers in Bende LGA gathered at the palace of the Chairman of Council of Traditional Rulers, Bende LGA, HRM Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu ( Ofufe lol of Amofufe Igbere Autonomous Community) where they decorated Senator Ohuabunwa ahead of the polls.

It's only the height of desperation and crass politics for any political opponent to be so desperate as to fabricate imaginary statements using the revered traditional institution.

We know that those who are jittery over the growing anger across Abia North about poor representation and backwardness of the zone in the recent times, are the masterminds of the sponsored news report. It is only obvious to them that the people have finally risen to take back their stolen mandate and restore the voice and dignity of Abia North, hence their desperation. They know the shame and humiliation awaiting them at the poll.

Abia North monarchs will certainly not be rooting for a Ruga promoter, 'Villa sweeper', comic relief maker and one who has abandoned the zone to its fate amid raging insecurity.

Wise and erudite traditional rulers from Abia North couldn't have endorsed darkness for light, or failure for Excellence. They are well informed and wise enough to communicate their position to their subjects and not through the laughable method claimed by Kalu Obasi and his paymaster. They should recast their poor script because it's too lame to fly.

PROMINENT ABIRIBA SONS ENDORSE SENATOR MAO OHUABUNWA FOR SENATE ABIA NORTH AS ENACHOKEN OF ABRIBA GAVE HIS BLESSING.

It was jubilation yesterday at Abriba Enachoken as prominent sons of Abiriba kingdom endorsed Senator Mao Ohuabunwa for Senate. Recall that Senator Mao had vissited Dr David Ogba Onuoha(Bordex) to commiserate with him over the death of his son. Responding, Dr David Ogba Onuoha warmly appreciated Senator Mao for the visit.

He described Mao Ohuabunwa as a bossom friend who assisted him to get his Bordex Communication Network licence, he regretted the rivalry and enemity politics wanted to cause between him and Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, he used the occasion to endorse Mao for Senate Abia North come 2023 and moreso to mobilize support for Mao within and outside Abiriba.

Another Abiriba son, Chief Okebulu Jombo and Hon Jombo who contested for Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency in the just concluded PDP Primary Election equally had thrown their weight behind Mao, Speaking at Chief Okebulu's house, Senator Mao informed him that he was at Abiriba to condole with Dr David Ogba over the death of his son and wish to officially informed him chief Okebulu of his ambition. Responding, Chief Okebulu gave testimonies of Abiriba sons and daughters who benefited from Mao's human resource developmental strides including his daughter. He said that none of the candidates vying for the senate can claim to be more Abiriba than Mao. He promised to mobilize voters for Mao.

Hon Jombo who contested for Arochukwu Ohafia Federal constituency equally promised to work assiduously to ensure realization of Mao's dream for Senate, this came on a brief stop over at his residence at Abiriba.

The visits was wrapped up by a Royal blessing from HRM Eze Ogbu,( Enachoken of Abiriba) who equally acknowledged Senator Mao Ohuabunwa's human and material developmental strides within Abiriba nay Ohafia local government.
He presented Mao Ohuabunwa with traditional chalk powder( nzu) which is acceptance and symbol of strenght to go out for victory.

This event attracted the presence of Executive chairman of Ohafia LGA Dr Okoroafor Ukiwo, DG Mao Ohuabunwa Campaign Council Ohafia Rev Dr Onyema Agbai, Dr, Ikechi Agwu Anya, Women Leader of Follow Better Organization, Former Commissioner for SME Bar Gabe Igboko, Secretary Mao Campaign council, Chief Proper Nwabueze, Princely Kingsely Ngunu, Dr Tompson Ezeikpe, Hon John Mark, Chief Felix Ukpabi(Onye Eze) Hon Anthony Nwankwo among others.
