STORY TIMEā¦..(The Essence of Prayer)!
How God used me to save a pregnant woman wheeled in for an Emergency CS last night.
It was my last day of working night shift yesterday and after scrubbing the first case,a young woman was wheeled into the operating suite due to prolonged labour and fetal distress.
The woman was in so much distress .
Unfortunately our disposable gown/mask for surgery was exhausted so we were rallying around to see how we can get a spare from main theatre.
Just when I was about to leave being the only one with the woman in the theatre becos the surgeons and other persons left ,she called my attention to call her husband on phone to know if he could get the items from the pharmacy.
I called the husband with my phone but to no avail!
The woman started crying and pleaded with me to massage her stomach and waist .
I started massaging her continuously and something inside of me ministered to me to start āPRAYING āfor her.
I started praying and covering her with the blood of Jesus including her baby.
Then suddenly she started contracting and shouting nurse I want to pass faeces/use the toilet.
I quickly opened her private area behold the baby was coming out from her va**na through breech presentation (with legs first).
I called on the surgeons and my chief/colleague in labour ward to help us receive the baby.
We had a bit difficulty because the baby ās head wasnāt coming out but I kept on praying as we kept on encouraging her to push a little bit..
Lo and behold an alive male neonate was delivered and resuscitated..
Despite the struggle and stress she didnāt have a single tear .
This was a woman that was about to undergo a caesarean section but God delayed the surgeons,anesthetist and nurses just to glory himself.
The woman on gaining consciousness asked me my name that she is going to name her baby after me..
I smiled and told her my name is COURAGE!
She said thank you for standing by me when I needed you and your prayers !
God used you to do wonders for me this night.
The essence of prayer is very important!
You have to be fully armed and ready!
