PDP Governors Appoint Ikpeazu to Saraki-led 7-Man Committee Ahead of Crucial NEC Meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has appointed former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, as a member of a 7-man ad hoc committee chaired by former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki. The committee is tasked with ensuring a rancour-free National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for May 27, 2027.

This decision was among the resolutions reached at a strategic meeting of the PDP Governors Forum held at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge. The meeting was attended by serving and former PDP governors.

The Saraki-led committee has the mandate to facilitate a smooth and unified NEC meeting and to make preparations ahead of the party’s forthcoming national convention.

Other members of the committee include Governors Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), and Peter Mbah (Enugu), alongside former Bayelsa Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, and former Gombe Governor, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo.

PDP Governors, Stakeholders Hold Crucial 2025 5th Forum Meeting in Abuja, Set Sight on 2027 Elections

Today, the Peoples' Democratic Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum (PDP-GF) is holding the 2025/5th meeting at the Conference Room, Bauchi State Governor's Lodge, Asoroko.

The meeting is expected to feature an enlarged session of incumbent and former governors of the PDP, provided they remain listed in the Party's Membership Nominal Roll.

The agenda will cover National issues, Party unity, and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also, the Forum will equally host the National Working Committee (NWC) led by the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum.
