President Tinubu wants to try a different approach to reviving the Ajaokuta Steel Mill.🤔

He understands that Ajaokuta's problem is more about economics than engineering.

He is in discussions with Chinese partners to operate the plant, this time backed by a 20-year gas supply guarantee.

Recent audits revealed that about 70% of the equipment remains in good condition, while the remaining 30% requires replacement with modern technology.

If this model succeeds, it could finally unlock the economic potential that has eluded Ajaokuta for decades.🇳🇬💯💯🇳🇬

Kajola Railway Wagon Assembly Plant – Ogun State 🇳🇬

The Kajola Railway Wagon Assembly Plant in Ogun State is the first railway wagon assembly facility in West Africa and a major milestone in Nigeria's drive to develop its railway industry.
Commissioned in 2023, the plant was established to assemble and eventually manufacture railway wagons locally, reducing dependence on imports while supporting the country's expanding rail network.

At full capacity, the facility is projected to produce up to 500 railway wagons annually and create about 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. Beyond job creation, it is expected to strengthen local manufacturing, promote technology transfer, develop skilled manpower, and position Nigeria as a supplier of rolling stock for other West African countries.
The plant was conceived to meet the growing demand for railway wagons generated by ongoing and future rail projects across Nigeria and the wider region. If fully utilized, it has the potential to boost industrialization, support freight transportation, and contribute to long-term economic growth.

The Federal Ministry of Works, under the leadership of Minister David Umahi, supervised the project's implementation as part of the government's road infrastructure programme.

The expressway remains one of Lagos' most important transport corridors, supporting access to the Apapa port complex and improving the movement of people and good
