THEY CAN REMOVE THE BANNERS. THEY CANNOT REMOVE THE PEOPLE’S VOICE. 🇳🇬

Over 50 campaign banners belonging to Peter Obi and NDC Reps candidate Dr. Adefolaseye have reportedly been removed in Surulere, Lagos, while APC banners were left standing.

We have seen this movie before.

2023 was not yesterday. Nigerians remember the attempts to frustrate the visibility of the Peter Obi movement in Lagos.

But did it stop the people?

No.

Peter Obi still won Lagos.

That should teach everyone an important lesson:

You can tear down a banner, but you cannot tear down an idea.
You can remove a poster, but you cannot remove conviction.
You can intimidate people, but you cannot force them to love you.

The hearts of the people cannot be conquered with intimidation and oppression.

So, let them remove the banners.

We will put up more.
Let them try to silence the message.
We will speak even louder.
Let them underestimate the people.
We will surprise them at the ballot box.

2027 is coming.

And this time, we are not deterred.

From Akwa Ibom, Mr. Peter Obi continues to engage directly with stakeholders, leaders and citizens on the most important conversation of our time: How do we build a Nigeria that works for everyone?

A united Nigeria.
A productive Nigeria.
A prosperous Nigeria.
A Nigeria where leadership is about service, competence and results.

Subsidy removal should never be about making Nigerians poorer. It should be about freeing resources and redirecting them into the things that actually make a nation stronger.

If subsidy is removed, Nigerians deserve to know:

1. Where is the money going?
2. How is it being invested?
3. What measurable benefits are citizens receiving?

The money saved must not disappear into waste, corruption and excessive government spending.

It should go into power, education, healthcare, roads, security, jobs and productive investment.

Because reform without accountability is only another burden on the people.

Remove waste. Invest in productivity. Build the nation. 🇳🇬

“They cannot be feasting while Nigerians are fasting.”

Nigeria cannot continue to operate on two different realities: one where a privileged few enjoy abundance, while millions of ordinary Nigerians struggle to afford food, pay school fees, access healthcare, find decent jobs and live with dignity.

Leadership is not about enjoying the privileges of office. It is about sacrificing for the people, managing public resources responsibly and ensuring that prosperity reaches the ordinary citizen.

When Nigerians are hungry, government must listen.
When families cannot make ends meet, leadership must act.
When young people are without opportunities, the priority must be creating a productive economy, not celebrating excess.

The resources of Nigeria belong to Nigerians.

Nobody should be feasting while the people are fasting.

The question is simple: Should those in power live differently from the people they govern?

Peter Obi at the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, speaking on Democracy, Governance and the Nigeria we must build.

His message was clear: Nigeria cannot move forward by merely changing political leaders; we must change the way we govern.

Obi challenged Nigerians, particularly those entrusted with protecting the rule of law, to demand institutions that work, leaders who are accountable and a system where public resources are deployed according to the priorities of the people.

He also drew attention to a fundamental question of governance: What should come first when resources are limited?

For him, government must prioritise the things that directly improve the lives and productivity of citizens, security, education, healthcare, infrastructure, jobs and a productive economy, rather than pursuing projects simply because they are politically attractive or grand in appearance.

His intervention at the NBA conference was another reminder that development is not about how much government spends, but about what government spends on, how efficiently it spends it, and whether Nigerians actually benefit.

A nation cannot build a strong economy on weak institutions.
A democracy cannot survive without the rule of law.
And Nigeria cannot reach its potential when public interest is constantly sacrificed for political interest.

The theme of this year’s NBA conference is “Beyond Limits.”

Indeed, Nigeria must go beyond the limits of poor governance, weak institutions, insecurity, waste and misplaced priorities.

The Nigeria we desire is possible, but it requires leadership with vision, discipline, accountability and the courage to put the people first.
