It's a Wrap! There are not enough words to describe my delight at haven taken part of this workshop on Elections reporting.
It could not have come at a better time than this when Nigerians are getting set to get back to the polls.
I want to immensely thank Joan Mower and Henok S Fente for a highly engaging training that was well focused on the most pertinent issue.
Here are four key things I got from the first day of this workshop.
1.The honours is upon us as journalist to find the data and evidence to back up solutions to the myriads of problems within our society. This is the strongest journalism and we can't say it cannot be done in Nigeria.
2. By repeatedly telling the story from various angles, a solid narrative is formed and this eventually becomes a public agenda.
3. We must stop being too individualistic, there is more to be achieved through qualitative collaborations.
4. Before you set out to do the story, plan and ensure your planning includes what platforms would be used to tell the story best. We owe the public a duty to tell all sides in the most presentable way.
There is so much more to come.
