MY EL-RUFAI STORY
▪︎ For Anyone Who Sincerely Wants To Know The Truth About Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
A touching tribute recently penned by someone has caused me to begin to tell a story, which I have always promised to tell someday, but have not done so - 'MY EL-RUFAI STORY'. Consider this a prelude to the full story, which will come someday, God sparing my life.
First, let it be made abundantly clear that I am not standing with, beside and behind the Fulani Muslim, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai because there is anything promised or expected. No! I am doing so simply because he is a good man and a man of honour, courage, and truth - four attributes that I never joke with. Let me also restate that I am fully for accountability, and I am glad that once again, Mallam El-Rufai has willfully submitted himself for accountability. I just do not like malicious and selective accountability and abuse of due process. I will always speak up against that.
Setting The Records Straight
I had never met nor personally interacted with Mallam Nasir El-Rufai until last year's Ramadan (2025), although I have been closely following his trajectory over the years. Which serious minded Nigerian hasn't?
How It All Began
When our erstwhile party betrayed, maligned, and insulted El-Rufai for simply saying that things should be done right by the party, I could not stand the injustice and ungodly conduct. I could neither side with that nor keep quiet like many of my APC compatriots then did. It just was not in my character to do so. So, I spoke out, as I would for any other person, indeed, as I had for many others in the past, including for the current President who now thinks himself a god. The shameful pushback I got for speaking up instead of remorse, rethink, and re-evaluation sealed my decision to dissociate myself from the motly crowd of retrogressive elements, ingrates, hypocrites, sycophants and betrayers.
Eventually, to cut the story short, thus, solely by divine providence, I was privileged to get close to the diminutive, yet all-round imposing personality that is Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai. I have not stopped thanking God for that singular honour and privilege.
Let Me Be Clear
I am not one to be easily impressed, hoodwinked, or bamboozled, but after a two and half hour-long conversation alone with him on a certain night at the iftar (breaking fast) table, I knew instantly that I had just met a collosus of a man - a gaint whose physical height and stature belie his true stature - intellectually and as a human being - simple and unassuming, yet tough and sharp as a concrete nail. The full details of that life changing encounter will be documented someday.
However, I knew instantly that I had just met and interacted with the real deal - a man with a brain and a soul in the right places. A frank to a fault, God fearing and humble, yet no nonsense man. An unapologetically patriotic Nigerian - who only means well for the nation, in addition to being exceptionally intelligent and highly intellectual - one of my turn ons. I left him and drove home that night feeling and thinking to myself, 'this is the man', while praying to God to perfect whatever is His (God's) will for Nigeria using him, if it is His (God's) will.
But That Was Just The Beginning
I am a Nigerian. Just like most other Nigerians, I had heard things about the man El-Rufai, whom I had just met in person for the first time. I am not one to whom you say, 'it is ten, it is ten', and I just throw it into my pocket without counting. No! If I was going to associate with this man, knowing that once I keyed into any Cause or relationship, I never look back, I needed to do my objective due diligence. So, I went ahead, unknown to him, to independently check him out, as they say.
Just like many other Nigerians, I had equally heard all the viral street talk of El-Rufai being:
▪︎ A "religious bigot" and an "Islamic extremist" who persecuted Christians worse than Saul in the Bible did.
▪︎ A "terrorist sympathiser" who, as Governor, imported bandits, paid them to kill, and personally supervised the killing of Southern Kaduna people under his watch.
▪︎ A "tyrant" who abducted and locked up his enemies and critics without taking them to the police and the court and threw away the keys.
▪︎ A heartless and "wicked man" who demolished people's properties for fun, even though they did not contravene the masterplan.
▪︎ A "land grabber" who snatched people's land at will without cause and/or compensation and reallocated them to his children.
▪︎ A man who sacked qualified teachers and replaced them with unqualified ones from his village.
▪︎ A man who stole all of Kaduna state's money, did not generate any revenue and who borrowed loans yet did not do anything for Kaduna state with the loans - no infrastructure, no social welfare. Nothing.
All these and worse I had heard, but because it is not in my character to swallow whatever is said about someone - anyone (even my enemy) - and to join in maligning and demonising them without seeking the truth by and for myself, I did not buy or sell any of those, especially as:
▪︎ I had followed the same El-Rufai from his days at the BPE. A couple of BPE staff were my patients, and we did generally discuss issues then.
▪︎ I have also been permanently resident in the FCT since 2000. So, I witnessed, first hand, his tenure as Minister of the FCT. In fact, as some say, El-Rufai also "happened to me". Barely three months after I had finished setting up my clinic in Asokoro, it was demolished under El-Rufai as part of the restoration of the Abuja masterplan. But instead of hating and demonising him for that like many others did, as painful as it was, I commended him for being bold and courageous enough to do the right thing. That property was in the wrong place. When I looked at all that he did in Abuja as Minister, even today, it was and remains over 95% good and positive.
▪︎ Furthermore, during his tenure as Governor of Kaduna State, I was politically active and a card-carrying member of the APC (the first political party I ever registered with). I was also an ardent Buharist and a long-standing public affairs commentator, so I had my eyes and ears around and on the ground.
I never went to Kaduna to meet with him, unlike some others, because he did not know me, except when I travelled briefly to or passed through Kaduna, and I saw the excellent and exceptional work he was doing, which when compared to my own state, I only felt ashamed, pained and indeed jealous of Kaduna people. I equally heard of and saw what he did in Kaduna as testified to in real time by Kaduna State indigenes, including eloquently, by their current Governor.
So, when some people started their political iskanchism, barely 2 years after he left office and soon after he dumped the man and the party who and which betrayed and insulted him after helping them to come to power, I smelt a rat.
Nevertheless, I dug deep and I discovered - based on independently verified facts and irrefutable evidence (not from El-Rufai) that virtually 95% of what have been said and alleged about and against him were half truths and lies - often fantastic, ungodly, wicked and fabricated lies.
I intentionally sought for and obtained hard evidence, including videos and documents of what actually transpired in several aspects, including regarding insecurity in Southern Kaduna, insecurity in the state at large, including alleged payments of bandits, sacking of teachers, distribution of infrastructure, employment and appointments, second term Muslim-Muslim ticket, as well as issues relating to Shiek Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and the sad case of Abubakar Idris popularly known as Dadiyata - issues which many have parroted for years but few ever bothered to directly confront him with or to ask - where are the facts and what is the truth?
I religiously documented all those findings with verified videos and documents on my Facebook wall for the world to see. Of course, many pretended not to see because their intentions are neither altruistic nor their motive the truth.
Permit me in this prelude to touch on 4 particular issues that most people have hung on to as the evils of El-Rufai and used to demonise him, mostly without proof or facts, viz:
▪︎ Dadiyata - To say that he was tyrannical and intolerant;
▪︎ Shiekh El-Zakzaky - To say that he has no respect for the rule of law;
▪︎ Muslim-Muslim Ticket - To say that he is a religious bigot who hated Christians, and;
▪︎ Southern Kaduna - To say that he marginalised them, treated them very badly, and to put it in some people's words, "hated" them.
1) DADIYATA
The first thing that jumped at me in this regard when I started fishing was how, in spite of the widespread hullabaloo, no individual, organisation or institution confronted El-Rufai on the matter (I'm not talking about social media vituperations), even after he left office as Governor and his immunity ended. Many people just continued to allege and accuse him as if it had been established that he was responsible for the condemnable dissappearance of Dadiyata, or indeed anyone else.
The often stated reason was that Dadiyata was his 'critic' and was resident in Kaduna state. If those were acceptable proof of culpability and guilt for such, then I guess every Nigerian Governor and even President would be so pronounced guilty. Of course, El-Rufai had stated that he won't respond to viral allegations on social media - and no serious person would.
It was actually Charles Aniagolu of Arise Television who sat face to face with him on live television (and that was less than 3 months ago) and pointedly asked him (El-Rufai) about Dadiyata and a few other persons. He (El-Rufai) neither parried nor dodged the question. He answered it head on and even gave some insights that any serious people would have run with if they were sincere about their concerns about Dadiyata, but mum was the word thereafter. The more reticent and mischievous of his accusers simply carried on. I took note of that.
2) SHIEK IBRAHEEM EL-ZAKZAKY
First, I found it curious how it seemed that many Nigerians, including those resident in Abuja FCT away from Kaduna, quickly forgot or pretended to forget all that we knew and witnessed about the respected Sheikh and his Islamic Movement Of Nigeria (IMN), including their blocking of the convoy of then Chief of Army Staff, General Buratai.
My findings showed that El-Rufai, whether before or as Governor, had no personal grudge with the Sheikh any more than any other civilized Kaduna and Nigerian citizen did. As a Governor, it was his duty to do something about it, and he did not shirk from doing so.
The notion spread by many was that he handled the case of Sheikh El-Zakzaky extrajudicially and that he held him in prolonged detention without trial, but was that really the case?
I found that to not be factually accurate. Even though the Kaduna State government under El-Rufai felt the Sheikh had a case to answer, it was the federal government (not El-Rufai or the Kaduna State government under him) that held El-Zakzaky in custody in Abuja for the most part while it was the Kaduna State government that prosecuted him.
Overall, I found it amazing to say the least that that was added to the list of sins and evils of El-Rufai, even by people who were critics, direct witnesses and even victims of at least the rambunctious and often disruptive nature of IMN's activities.
3) MUSLIM-MUSLIM TICKET
This is one of the allegations that many people parrot as one of the many sins of El-Rufai. Indeed the most ignorant and hypocritical of people link it together with the 2023 Muslim-Muslim Presidential ticket, ridiculously crediting Mallam El-Rufai with it forgetting the party and indeed the individual who was the architect and actual beneficiary of that ticket.
El-Rufai did not run for President and was not even the National Chairman of the APC. Therefore, to solely attribute the so called Muslim-Muslim Presidential ticket that most of us in the APC then defended as not being a religious decision but rather a strategic political decision to win election to one man El-Rufai and to demonise him for it while the actual beneficiaries of that ticket are sparred and remain silent, is at best laughable and at worse wicked.
Back to Kaduna state. I found that the decision for a Muslim-Muslim ticket in El-Rufai’s second term was not a religious decision by any stretch of the imagination. It was purely a result of strategic political calculations. Indeed, I found out that it was not even El-Rufai’s initiative, which might shock some people.
Some Insight
The people of Southern Kaduna in their majority had religiously supported the PDP over the years. Even in the 2015 Governorship election, in which El-Rufai contested and eventually won with a Southern Kaduna Christian running mate, he and his then party, the APC, could not garner up to 20% votes in Southern Kaduna. Further analysis showed that the bulk of that less than 20% votes did not come from the Christian part of Southern Kaduna. Note: This was before El-Rufai became Governor or held any office in Kaduna state.
In spite of that clear statement of rejection, El-Rufai gave significant and key positions to Southern Kaduna Christians, including notably Mr. Samuel Aruwan, who he initially appointed his Senior Special Assistant on Media from 2015 to 2019 and later, in 2019, named the pioneer Commissioner of Internal Security, a new Ministry that he created.
Yet, credible records and data show that cooperation and support from Southern Kaduna Christians for both El-Rufai and his then party, the APC, did not improve in any considerable manner throughout the first tenure.
So, when it came for re-election in 2019, political strategists had to do some serious thinking and hard-hitting political calculations. At the end of it, after a series of objective and competence based selection and elimination process, a woman from Southern Kaduna, Mrs. Hadiza Balarabe, who happens to be a Muslim, was settled on.
An objective and sincere minded person would ask: Are Muslims from Southern Kaduna not also part of Southern Kaduna who equally deserve consideration? Especially if they are qualified.
One Other Thing
El-Rufai neither quarreled with nor threw his Deputy Governor in the first term, Barnabas Bala (popularly known as Bantex), with whom he enjoyed a cordial working relationship under the bus, as many Nigerian Governors are wont to do.
On the contrary, he heavily supported him (Bantex) to go to the Senate on the APC platform for the Kaduna South Senatorial District in 2019, but his Southern Kaduna Christian brethren neither supported nor voted for him (Bantex).
He was reportedly treated like an "outcast" by Southern Kaduna Christians because he was seen as working in an "Islamic party", the APC. Bantex garnered a mere 31.90% of votes cast and lost that election to Danjuma Laah of the PDP, who got 64.35% of the votes.
So, it began to make sense to me why El-Rufai said that, no matter who he had chosen as his running mate (in 2019), even if he chose the Pope, 67% of the Christians in Southern Kaduna had made up their minds that they will never vote for him. Who would honestly blame him?
4) SOUTHERN KADUNA
My findings about Southern Kaduna in particular were as interesting as they are unfortunate and disturbing. Please, permit me to delve a bit deeper into it.
Southern Kaduna and its issue are quite a paradox and a complex admixture of psychological, physical, and sociological problems that have calcified over the decades. A not so vast geographical space, comparatively, inhabited by people separated by both religion, tribes and cultures.
Even the religion aspect is not finite, particularly on the Christian side. Their relationship and behaviours are largely influenced more by their ethnic groupings than by their Christian faith, which in itself, they are split among several minor and major Christian denominations. Their 'unity' often showed up when their 'common enemy' - the Muslims and Hausa/Fulani amongst them are involved.
As I found, contrary to the picture presented to the outside world, of Southern Kaduna being a purely Christian enclave, there are also Muslims and other tribes, including Fulanis who are equally indigenes of Southern Kaduna. Incidentally they are in the minority and do equally suffer some of the same things at the hands of the Southern Kaduna Christian majority that Southern Kaduna Christians complain about in areas where they are in the minority - the 'indigene and settler' dynamics playing a huge part.
When you throw a deeply entrenched and very toxic political culture characterised by elites who exploit their people and use them as political and economic pawns, or better put, as cannon fodder, you might begin to understand why El-Rufai is hated with passion by a significant proportion (to avoid overgeneralisation) of Southern Kaduna Christians.
To validate my point, on one occasion, as part of my due diligence, I had a conversation with a well educated and politically exposed senior citizen - a very vicious and prolific public critic of El-Rufai from Southern Kaduna right in my office. At a point in our conversation, he said (or rather confessed) to me that El-Rufai really did not do anything wrong. He said that the problem he had with El-Rufai was that he (El-Rufai) did not do anything for him as Governor. He ended by saying; ''tell Nasir that I am willing to work with him now". I won't mention his name here out of decency and respect, but I am sure that he will read this. If he denies it, I will mention his name and bring proof.
You can extrapolate and multiply that amongst many other Southern Kaduna elites and leaders, and a clear and scary picture will emerge.
Conclusion
My findings conclusively show that, El-rufai was essentially a victim and an inheritor of decades of entrenched and normalised hatred, intolerance, violence, an aggravated entitlement mentality and indiscipline, as well as a system that had been configured, long before he arrived on the scene, to run on blackmail, self deceit, victim mentality, rent seeking, and appeasement.
Unfortunately, El-Rufai went in with a borders-blind reformist mindset, intent on bringing about change and making a difference, but in so doing, he upset the apple cart.
Instead of El-Rufai continuing with the tradition and culture of keeping a blind eye, appeasement and settlement of the elites who in turn 'settled' their people with peanuts and fed them with what they wanted them to hear, including who to hate and who to love, such that thus deceived and compromised, they surpressed the problems which had been with them for ages, including insecurity, killings and deaths, he went to deliver the dividends of democracy directly to the people. That was part of El-Rufai’s sins. Please, fact check me.
It is actually bewildering how many Nigerians actually believe or have managed to be deceived into believing that all the woes of Southern Kaduna and of its peoples, especially insecurity, started with El-Rufai, were perpetrated by or were worsened by him. Documented history and verifiable records prove otherwise.
El-Rufai went in for real change and human capital and material development - which he delivered to an appreciable and undeniable extent - but unfortunately, that was not what they wanted. Thus, he was rewarded with hatred, not necessarily because he did worse for them security and other wise than those before him, or particularly because of him as a person, but for hatred equally transfered from residual hatred for his tribe and his religion.
Unfortunately, outsiders far removed from the theatre and actual reality took sides with the perceived 'oppressed', against a perceived enemy, powered by their own idiosyncrasies, stereotypes and religious and political biases, and sentiments.
You often hear an argument from the more narcotised of Southern Kaduna Christians saying; 'El-Rufai’s successor is equally a Muslim who also ran and governs on a Muslim-Muslim ticket (in fact the same Muslim women from Southern Kaduna who was El-Rufai’s deputy in his second term), so why (they argue) are they (Southern Kaduna Christians) not equally having issues with him?'
That is a mischievous and smart by half argument that could only fly with an uninformed and naive person. The truth is that they do not love Governor Ubah Sani any more than they did El-Rufai. Sani is just doing what they love or think they love, and he knows and understands that, and he is exploitating it to the maximum, seeing as he can not fit into El-Rufai’s shoes. He is no El-Rufai and can not be like Mallam - even by his own admission.
The actual reason is simple. El-Rufai’s successor simply returned to the status quo of appeasement and populism which El-Rufai distanced himself from and sought to change. So, when you hear or read about "style", that is exactly what they refer to.
Otherwise, how does one explain the fact that the insecurity situation with accompanying attacks, abductions and killings in Southern Kaduna - the cardinal 'sin' of El-Rufai according to them - has neither stopped nor abated in any reasonable manner nearly three years after El-Rufai’s tenure ended, yet they hardly complain?
As a matter of verifiable fact, data analysis by The ICIR indicated that the number of deaths recorded in the first two years of Governor Uba Sani actually exceeded those recorded in the first two years of El-Rufai, indicating a continued, rather than diminished, high rate of violence. It further revealed that, while both the El-Rufai and Uba Sani administrations faced significant violence, the data shows that killings remained at an elevated level rather than dropping immediately upon Sani's takeover. That assessment has not changed in any real form today.
Nonetheless, to conclude my self assigned task of searching for the facts and truth, I went ahead to publicly post 16 straightforward questions and called on every and any one who had any issue(s) against Mallam El-Rufai to come forth and present them by answering those 16 questions which covered every aspect of the spins and viral accusations against and about him with proofs and facts which I believed they must have aplenty.
It might interest you to know that months and over 50,000 views of that post later, not a single person showed up to present any facts. Not even those Southern Kaduna folks or those who I refer to as 'sympathetic haters from afar by induction' who religiously crawl around my posts about El-Rufai showed up. They obviously know the truths even better than I do, but 'the agenda must agend'.
So, at that point, every significant thing duly checked out, I decided that I would love to associate with his person and character, based on factual evidence and objective conviction. I decided that I would rather swim or sink with an El-Rufai, out of power and out of accompanying favour, than be in bed with a colorless and characterless bunch of betrayers, who even though in power chose to use it against the people and the nation.
So, when the dance by the anti-corruption agencies began, I naturally had no option but to stick with El-Rufai, having established that he is neither a thief nor is he the incompetent and demonic mass murderer, extremist and bigot that he had been made out to be, including by those whose life stories wouldn't even be written if El-Rufai’s name is not mentioned. The classic projectionism.
So, here we are today. I thank God, and I thank Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for not putting me and millions of those who respect and admire him to shame. A former 2-term Nigerian Governor. No billions or trillions traced to him, no multiple properties linked to him requested for forfeiture, nothing worth mentioning, so much so that the anti-corruption agencies who have incarcerated and 'investigated' him for an additional 36 straight days and counting, after over two years of investigation, cannot throw out anything worth listening to.
Yet, it is not yet uhuru, but I am strengthened and encouraged. Until proven otherwise, beyond the shadow of a doubt, in a court of competent jurisdiction, that he is corrupt and evil, I will stand resolutely with Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. He is no saint but surely placed side by side with many of his contemporaries in the Nigerian political and leadership space today, he is a saint. QED!
■ EPILOGUE
📍The Unholy Alliance
It is not only some Southern Kaduna Christians who have recruited or allowed themselves to be recruited as haters and enemies of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
There are a collection of other individuals and groups of individuals who, for reasons none of which is altruistic, have equally recruited themselves or been recruited into the 'demonise El-Rufai at all costs and by all means enterprise'.
These Include:
▪︎ Some other individuals from Kaduna state who simply hate the guts of El-Rufai and who feel threatened and intimidated by his personal and political stature and trajectory and his excellent record of achievements, including some persons who have personal grudges against him.
▪︎ Some tribal and religious jingoists and bigots from across the nation who project their bigotry unto El-Rufai, masking it as support for Southern Kaduna Christians - not out of sincere love - rather the enemy of enemy is my friend.
▪︎ Some persons who hated and still hate late President Muhammadu Buhari, even in death, who see in El-Rufai a 'reincarnation' of Buhari and thus have transferred their morbid and unjustified hatred for Buhari to El-Rufai. These include a group of tribal bigots who will never see any good in Fulanis.
▪︎ Some supporters, tribesmen and appointees of the current President who all they see in El-Rufai is a mortal threat to his second term re-election bid, conveniently pretending to forget that El-Rufai was instrumental to his election the first time and they are not willing to show remorse for the ingratitude and betrayal meted to him and the injustice he is subjected to today at his hands.
▪︎ Some former political associates, appointees, and mentees of El-Rufai, both in Kaduna and around the country who are finding it difficult to reconcile their restless consciences with their unprecedented ingratitude and betrayal of him.
▪︎ These elements, like birds of a feather, have gravitated themselves into an unholy alliance. They are the ones enabling and accentuating the lies and half truths against El-Rufai while desperately labouring to recruit other uninformed and gullible Nigerians into their hateful enterprise.
The irony of it all, and it is instructive and worthy of note, is that none of these elements, including the Southern Kaduna folks, have accused El-Rufai of incompetence or of not delivering on his mandates as a public official, from the BPE, to the FCT to Kaduna state. Not even of corruption. That, in and of itself, tells an important story to the sound and objective minded.
They feel that somehow, by manufacturing propaganda, lies, and noise about El-Rufai, they can distract public attention from their own evil mischief and failures and drown out El-Rufai’s steller records of achievements and his integrity, but records do not lie and facts are stubborn.
📍Deflating Some Specific Lies And Mischiefs About El-Rufai
▪︎ El-Rufai Killed Southern Kaduna People
NO! On the contrary, El-Rufai inherited the decades old insecurity situation, and he did his utmost best under the circumstance to provide security in the state, including and especially in Southern Kaduna.
As part of those dedicated efforts, to mention a few:
He held his first state security council meeting in Southern Kaduna on the night of his inauguration on May 29th, 2015, following a security incident there. He did not create or cause that insecurity incident. He went to deal with it.
He also set up the General Martin Luther Agwai Peace Committee to find enduring solutions to insecurity and killings in Southern Kaduna, and in 2019, when he created a new Ministry for Internal Security, he appointed a Kaduna South Christian as its pioneer Commissioner.
As a matter of veried fact and data, attacks and killings in Southern Kaduna and elsewhere in the state actually reduced drastically in his first term but inched up in the later part of his second term due to a combination of a number of reasons, but definitely not because of complacency, abandonment, or abdication of duty.
If El-Rufai should be hated, demonised and accused of killing Southern Kaduna people, then the current Governor should too, because the insecurity situation in Southern Kaduna is not better in any significant way today, neither have the killings in Southern Kaduna stopped, unfortunately. Insecurity should never be politiced.
▪︎ El-Rufai Paid Bandits/El-Rufai Agreed On National Television That He Paid Bandits
NO! El-Rufai never paid bandits, and El-Rufai never said or agreed on national television that he paid bandits.
If anything, El-Rufai has repeatedly said publicly from as far back as 2021 that his administration would never negotiate with or pay bandits nor pay ransom to kidnappers. He has always said that "the only repentant bandit is a dead one".
In an interview with Channels Television (see video attached), which has been mischievously misrepresented by many, El-Rufai explained that following the recommendations of the General Martin Luther Agwai Peace Committee that some Fulani herdsmen who had lost their lives and cattle in some parts of Southern Kaduna during the 2011 post election violence should be paid compensation for their losses so as to end the reprisal attacks and consequent killings of Southern Kaduna people, compensations were paid to those willing to accept. That was done, and the reprisal attacks did stop. That was a one-off legitimate exercise, not payment to bandits, and it was effective. Who were the ultimate beneficiaries? Southern Kaduna people.
▪︎ El-Rufai Discriminated Against Southern Kaduna People.
No! El-Rufai included Southern Kaduna people in key appointments, employments and most importantly in infrastructural development projects and human capital development; including hospitals, schools, roads, bridges, street lighting, free healthcare for the elderly, free school feeding program, etc.
Furthermore, there is no proof that El-Rufai gave any undue advantages to other zones of Kaduna state while discriminating against Southern Kaduna. What he did was to share appointments equitably according to population strength. That is not discrimination - that is equity, justice, and fairness.

INDEED, YES! El-Rufai sacked over 25,000 unqualified teachers across the board who could not pass a basic assessment test. He filled the positions after a fresh recruitment test with better qualified teachers from across Kaduna state, including from Southern Kaduna, as well as with qualified non indigenes of Kaduna State.
▪︎ El-Rufai Incarcerated Shiek El-Zakzaky Without Trial.
NO! It was the federal government that detained El-Zakzaky. El-Rufai can not be held liable for that. The Kaduna State government prosecuted El-Zakzaky, and he was eventually acquitted by the court. That was the rule of law at play.
▪︎ Where Is Dadiyata?
A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION to ask, but one that must now be asked sincerely and devoid of mischief. The question should rightly be addressed to the security agencies. Thankfully, El-Rufai gave some helpful insights during his last Arise Television interview when someone finally got sincere enough to ask him the question directly. If we are sincere, let us stop the mischief and hypocrisy and follow those leads. Dadiyata's family deserves to know the truth and to have closure.

YES. HE DID. At the same time that he equally stopped state sponsorship of Muslims for pilgrimages.
Religious pilgrimages are a personal affair. No serious state and Governor should waste state resources sponsoring people for religious pilgrimages. El-Rufai was a serious Governor.
