🌧️ HOW TO AVOID FALLING SICK IN THE RAINY SEASON
✅ 1. Boost Your Immunity
• Eat foods rich in vitamin C (e.g., oranges, guava, lemon, bell peppers).
• Add immune-boosting foods like garlic, ginger, turmeric, honey, and green leafy vegetables.
• Take a daily multivitamin if advised by your doctor.
✅ 2. Dress Smartly
• Always carry a raincoat or umbrella.
• Wear waterproof shoes to avoid walking barefoot in puddles (reduces risk of infections like athlete’s foot or leptospirosis).
• Keep your clothes dry and warm — avoid staying in damp clothes too long.
✅ 3. Practice Good Hygiene
• Wash your hands frequently, especially after coming in from outside.
• Take a bath if you get drenched in the rain.
• Disinfect surfaces and keep your home clean and dry.
✅ 4. Avoid Street Food & Contaminated Water
• Rain increases the risk of waterborne diseases like typhoid and cholera.
• Only drink clean, filtered or boiled water.
• Avoid uncooked food from roadside vendors during this season.
• Wash fruits and vegetables properly before eating.
✅ 5. Keep Your Environment Clean
• Don’t let water collect in open containers — it attracts mosquitoes and causes malaria.
• Clear clogged drains or gutters around your home.
• Use mosquito nets or repellents to avoid bites.
✅ 6. Stay Warm and Dry Indoors
• Use warm blankets or hot water bottles when cold.
• Close windows when it’s windy and rainy to reduce exposure to cold air.
• If you’re using a fan or AC, set it to low or use it briefly.
✅ 7. Stay Active
• Exercise at home or do light indoor workouts to keep your blood flowing and immune system strong.
• Don’t skip movement even if it’s raining.
✅ 8. Get Enough Rest
• Sleep well (7–8 hours) to give your body the strength to fight off viruses.
• Don’t overwork or overstress yourself — stress weakens the immune system.
✅ 9. Pay Attention to Early Symptoms
• If you feel feverish, sneezy, or have a sore throat, rest early and treat symptoms before they worsen.
• Drink warm fluids like teas or warm water with honey and lemon.
✅ 10. See a Doctor When Needed
• If symptoms linger or you notice signs of malaria, typhoid, flu, or respiratory infection, seek medical help immediately.
