“I Got Pregnant at 16, and He Denied It” — Singer Waje Opens Up
Nigerian music star Waje has opened up about one of the toughest moments of her life getting pregnant at just 16.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, the singer revealed that she hid the pregnancy from her mother until she was five months gone. Things took a painful turn when the young man responsible denied being the father.
According to Waje, his family kept insisting “It’s not him,” leaving her heartbr0ken and alone. Years later, he came back remorseful, saying, “I was young and immature then, but I’d love to meet my daughter.”
Waje admitted she was hesitant, not out of bitt€rness, but because she wanted to protect her daughter’s peace. She later agreed on the condition that he would take responsibility properly. However, after agreeing to a DNA test, he went silent again.
Through it all, Waje’s story stands as a message of strength and courage — a reminder that even in pain, determination can still birth purpose.
