*SONS OF BELIAL (III)*

PASTOR MARTINS OMONUA
*2 CORINTHIANS 6:15* “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
*KEYWORD:* This year and beyond, let it be your testimony that nothing of darkness clings to you.
We who belong to the family of Christ have absolutely no connection, agreement, or fellowship with works of darkness, for that is what Belial represents. Belial is not just a name; it is a spirit that embodies wickedness, lawlessness, corruption, and rebellion against God. To be in Christ is to be separated, sanctified, and consecrated unto Him. There is no middle ground; no child of God can walk in covenant with Christ and still give room to Belial.
Remember the confrontation in Matthew 12, when the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub? Their accusation was not only false but absurd. Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, gave an unshakable principle: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?” (Matthew 12:25–26). By this, the Lord made it undeniably clear: there is no fellowship, no partnership, and no overlap between Him and Satan.
But here lies the heart of the matter, dear believer: Can the same be said of you? In the daily details of your life—your dealings, relationships, business, conversations, entertainment, choices, and secret thoughts—can it be said without doubt that you are untouched by the influences of darkness? Or have you, knowingly or unknowingly, opened doors to little compromises that taint your walk with God?
Often, the devil does not begin with glaring temptations. He starts subtly, suggesting a compromise that looks harmless, a relationship that feels innocent, a habit that seems acceptable, or entertainment that looks “normal.” Gradually, such indulgences desensitize your spirit, weaken your convictions, and create cracks for Belial’s influence to creep in. While you may consider it small, Satan never does. He is patient and strategic, weaving his snares carefully until the careless are trapped.
For some, it may even go deeper: alliances with cults, ungodly covenants, occult practices, or willful indulgence in sin under pressure or curiosity. But here is the good news: there is mercy, there is hope, and there is restoration in Christ Jesus. The moment you repent and separate yourself from those entanglements, the Father receives you with open arms, cleanses you by the blood of His Son, and restores you to your rightful place as His beloved.
Beloved, going forward, cultivate a holy hatred for every work of darkness. Do not flirt with compromise. Do not excuse sin. Do not allow Belial a foothold in your life. Be vigilant, for what you tolerate will eventually dominate you. Instead, guard your spirit diligently. Walk in the light of God’s Word, yield to the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit, and set your heart firmly on purity and holiness.
This year and beyond, let it be your testimony that nothing of darkness clings to you. You are of Christ; His light is your portion, His righteousness your covering, and His life your inheritance. Stand boldly in this truth and walk worthy of your calling. Hallelujah!
*PRAYER:*
Dear Father, I thank You for translating me from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Your dear Son. I declare today that I have no fellowship with the works of darkness. Strengthen me by Your Spirit to walk in holiness, to resist every enticement of Satan, and to remain steadfast in righteousness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
