INDUSTRIALIZED NIGER DELTA: WE OWNED THE OIL.

Name: Azikel Refinery
Location: Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

Owner: Azikel Group, founded and led by Dr. Azibapu Eruani.

Capacity: 25,000 barrels per day (bpd). The company says it has plans to eventually expand the refinery to 125,000 bpd.

Investment: The project has grown to about US$1 billion after engineering upgrades and redesign.

Type: It is a full-slate hydro-skimming refinery, meaning it is designed to produce products including petrol (PMS), diesel, aviation fuel, kerosene and LPG.

Current status: As of 2026, the refinery was reported to be at the finishing stage, with more than 700 workers involved in the completion phase.

Completion: Recent reporting says it is nearing completion.

Mr. Lucky of Gelegele Gives 24-Hour Ultimatum to Otedo Youth President Higher man Over Alleged Kidnapper Claim.

Mr. Lucky of Gelegele has demanded a public apology from the Otedo Youth President, Mr. Higher man, over a video allegedly circulating online in which Mr. Lucky was described as a kidnapper.

Mr. Lucky said the allegation is serious and has the potential to damage his reputation. He is therefore demanding that Mr. Higher man retract the statement and tender a public apology.

According to Mr. Lucky, Mr. Higher man has been given 24 hours to render the apology. He further stated that if the apology is not made within the stipulated period, legal action will be taken against him.

Mr. Lucky also said that court papers have been served on Mr. Higher man, signalling that the matter may proceed to court if the demand is not met.

The development has attracted attention within the community, with residents and stakeholders expected to allow the legal process to take its course while both parties present their respective sides.
