The Silent Betrayal
For six months, Tunde had endured the painful rejection from his wife, Adesuwa. Every night, he reached for her, hoping for intimacy, only to be met with excuses, "I'm tired," "Not tonight," "I have a headache." He respected her, never pushing too hard, never straying, even as frustration gnawed at him.
Adesuwa was a brilliant marketing executive, working long hours under her charismatic boss, Mr. Adekunle. He was wealthy, powerful, and always had a way of making her feel *seen* in ways Tunde hadn’t in years. What started as late-night work dinners turned into secret hotel rendezvous, whispered promises, and reckless passion.
Then, the unthinkable happened, Adesuwa missed her period.
When the pregnancy test confirmed her fears, she panicked. Tunde, still faithful and unaware, was overjoyed when she finally told him. "We’re going to be parents!" he exclaimed, hugging her tightly. But guilt twisted her stomach into knots.
Weeks later, during a routine scan, the doctor mentioned the baby’s due date. Tunde’s smile faded as he counted backward the timeline didn’t add up.
That night, he confronted her, voice trembling. "Adesuwa… whose child is this?"
Tears streamed down her face as the truth spilled out. The man who had waited, who had stayed faithful despite her coldness, now stood broken.
As she packed her bags, Tunde’s last words cut deep: "I stayed loyal through the drought… only for you to give another man your rain."
And just like that, a marriage built on years of love crumbled in a single confession.
