*2027: Kwara Central Will Support Kwara North for Governor, It is a Project for All Kwarans – Kwara Central for Kwara North*
The Kwara Central for Kwara North Group, a civic movement advocating equity, justice, and fairness in the political leadership of Kwara State, has reaffirmed its total commitment to ensuring that the next governor of the state emerges from Kwara North Senatorial District in 2027. The group noted that the demand is not just a political desire, but a moral and historical obligation rooted in the longstanding support Kwara North has extended to the other senatorial zones since the return of democracy in 1999.
This position was emphasized on Saturday, 9th August 2025, when the Kwara North Youth Consultative Forum (KNYCF) paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Kwara Central for Kwara North in Ilorin as part of its ongoing state-wide engagement with critical stakeholders and opinion leaders.
In his address, the Coordinator of the Kwara Central for Kwara North Group, AbdulMajeed Wahab Temidire popularly known as Aburo Gomina, described the Kwara North for Governor project as a “collective responsibility for all well-meaning Kwarans who believe in the principles of equity, justice, and fairness.” He recalled how, for over two decades, Kwara North has stood solidly behind candidates from both Kwara Central and Kwara South, ensuring their emergence as governors in every democratic cycle.
“It is now time for the other zones to reciprocate that brotherly gesture in 2027. This is not a sectional project; it is a Kwara project. Unity must be our all-round ingredient to achieve this goal. Our group is ready to lead the advocacy that will ensure majority of people in Kwara Central fully keys into this agenda.” AbdulMajeed declared.
Responding on behalf of KNYCF, Comrade Nura Mohammed, who represented the Chairman, Mallam AbdulDayan A. Haruna, praised the Kwara Central for Kwara North Group for its visible and unwavering commitment to the call of equity and fairness for the people of Kwara North. He noted that the group’s presence, complete with a well-identified operational office boldly displaying the advocacy’s vision, stands as a symbol of dedication and seriousness in the struggle.
“We in the Kwara North Youth Consultative Forum see you as one of the most committed partners in this cause. Your consistency and courage inspire us to do more. Let it be known that a Kwara North Governor will not be a governor for Kwara North alone, but a governor for all Kwarans – a leader who will promote inclusivity, unity, and balanced development across the state,” Comrade Nura said.
Both groups ended the meeting with a renewed commitment to work hand-in-hand until the vision of a Kwara North Governor in 2027 becomes a reality, stressing that the historic moment will not only be a political victory but a triumph for justice, equity, and the unity of Kwara State.
