Governor Inuwa Yahaya Pledges Continued Support for Local Governments, Distributes Operational Vehicles to Council Chairmen

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has reiterated his support and commitment to the full functioning and optimal operations of local governments for holistic grassroots development.

The governor stated this while presenting brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to the 11 local government chairmen during a brief ceremony held at Government House, Gombe.

The vehicles were procured to support LGAs' operations and ensure effective and efficient governance.

"These vehicles are not for leisure or luxury; they are for work. They are provided to support the operations of local governments, whose basic responsibility is to look after the welfare and well-being of the people at the grassroots", he explained.

He urged the chairmen to use the vehicles to reach all nooks and crannies of their respective local governments in order to improve service delivery to the people, assuring continued monitoring of how resources are utilized for transparent and accountable governance.

"We shall not waver in monitoring how you spend your resources as well as how you implement projects that positively impact your people," he said.

He called on the chairpersons to be proactive in generating revenue and delivering services to the people to complement the state government for all-inclusive growth and development.

Speaking further, the governor emphasised the constitutional role of local government as the third tier of government.

He said, "the state government alone cannot do it all. The constitution provides and allocates functions to local governments, which form the third tier of government and the closest to the people", he explained.

Governor Inuwa lamented the ineffective functioning of the LGAs, which he said is responsible for many development issues.

He noted that over time, most local governments abandoned their responsibilities, turning into salary-pay

What I Noticed About The Northerners From My Recent Travel To Northern Nigeria.

Copied.................................................................

That is the only place in Nigeria where you hardly find a goss!p.

The sense of brotherhood there is unshakeable. You don't need cooperate or official introduction for your brother to help you. Just make your plea with their language. They're many languages there, although, there's a central one that everyone can understand.

You don't need to officially invite one over a meal before they join, so long as they are hungry. It's not sh@meful to do that over there.
Food and meat are everywhere and are very cheap. With #500 you can eat food and meat to belly full and get small balance.

Naira still have value in the north currently.

They don't have en€vy for each other as everyone is happy.

But don't for any reason play with any man's Iyali ( wife). If you dare try it, na de@th straight.

They're multi millionaires in the northern Nigeria who:
_ own many properties including lorries and trailers but have no private car. Not even one to their names.
_ have no bank account. You must pay him in cash, otherwise, you forget about the business.
_ cannot speak, read or write English. You must communicate him with his language or you get an interpreter who will translate your English into his own language.
_have estate to their names but have no residential building for themselves and families.
_have no apartment in the city as they can spend nights inside trailers, lorries or nearby mosques. Mosques are everywhere and they are for everyone.
_ can wear bathroom slippers to important places.

Women over there don't fl@unt nyansh or dress half- n@ked to expose their priv@te parts or seduuce men. Those who are into such businesses have their quarters.

Their girls are most alluring and beautiful and hardly stay single for a long time.

Northerners and humility are 5&6. They don't bo@st about their achievements for any reason and they're not provoked to do so.

Those that have enough food know that they have and they bring it Willing for others to eat especially in their mosques. Free foods are being shared and eaten everyday in their mosques.

They are not saints oo but I think they are better in some aspects of lives.

I love their ways of lives ooo.

Guys, let's give them their flowers .

Yobe State is among the states in the northeast that cultivate groundnuts on a large scale. Groundnut cultivation in the state has contributed to improving food security, supporting livelihoods, and creating a ripple effect of economic activity in rural areas.

Groundnuts are often used to make different products, such as cooking oil and snacks. One of the most popular snacks made from groundnuts is Amaro or Mandawa (in Kanuri). This snack is prepared by boiling shelled groundnuts with salt and then frying them in a pan until they turn golden brown.

Amaro or Mandawa are colorful and delicious snacks that are typically enjoyed on their own. They can also be eaten with bread or used as a topping on garri.

Borno
Zulum visits Malam-Fatori, commends Tinubu

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum on Sunday travelled to Malam-Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Council in the Northern part of Borno State.

During Sunday’s visit, Zulum commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt attention to the fight against the insurgency in the Northeast.

Zulum, while interacting with officers and men of the task force battalion in Malam-Fatori, gave assurance of providing the necessary support to complement the federal government's efforts.

During the meeting, Zulum discussed the modalities for returning people to the Malam-Fatori community, who were displaced by flooding last year, after their initial resettlement by the Borno State Government.

“ I have interacted with the officers here, and looking at the commitment and hard work of the commanding officer, I believe we can resettle the people back to this community,” Zulum said.

He added, “I am happy that a number of people of Malam-Fatori, who reside in Bosso were able to cross over and cultivate their farmlands; this is a huge achievement.”

The Governor also extended his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja, for his commitment to restoring peace in Borno State.

Zulum was accompanied by the member House of Representatives, Engr Bukar Talba, the member representing Abadam at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Jamna B**g, Commissioners of Information and Internal Security and that of Local Government and Emirates Affairs, Prof. Usman Tar and Hon Sugun Mai Mele respectively.

Also present are the Acting Commander of Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai/Multinational Joint Task Force, Monguno, Mohammed Faggo Babayo, Commander 19 Brigade, Cross Kauwa, Saidu Shehu Ahmed, Chairmen of Abadam and Mobar Local Government Councils, among other government officials.

GOMBE WATER SCARCITY: THE NEED FOR GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION

I wrote about the immense hardship people face due to water scarcity just a few days ago. While I know it's not unique to Gombe, it's the situation here that I witness firsthand. The water shortage in Gombe has undeniably reached a critical level, demanding emergency measures from the government.

I have full faith in His Excellency the Governor's well-known concern for the people's plight. I trust he is already formulating a bold plan, as is his nature, to squarely address this issue. Your Excellency, with all due respect, your people are truly suffering. We know you care deeply for them. Water is life, and it's simply unavailable to many. Urgent intervention is needed.

However, let's remember that the state government cannot shoulder this burden alone. We must complement their efforts. Anyone with the means to dig a borehole should do so without delay. Purchase and distribute pure water bags. Donate a generator to a community borehole project. Contribute fuel to allow communities to pump water from their boreholes. Share what little you have with your neighbors. One sachet of pure water may save a life. Never underestimate that. Water is life, after all.
