The biggest mistake kind people make is thinking that everyone has a good heart like they do.

If you are a kind person, you will understand this.
You help people because you truly care. You forgive easily. You give people another chance. You always try to see the good in everyone.
But the painful truth is that not everyone thinks the way you do.
Some people will keep collecting your kindness without ever appreciating it.

Some will only remember you when they need money, help or a favor.
Some will even use your kindness against you because they know you find it hard to say "no."
Being kind is a beautiful thing, but being kind doesn't mean you should let people take advantage of you.
You don't have to explain yourself every time.
You don't have to keep giving when you are already tired.

You don't have to stay in relationships or friendships where you are the only one making an effort.
Real kindness starts with respecting yourself too.
The right people will appreciate your good heart. They won't make you feel guilty for having boundaries. They won't only call you when they need something.
So keep your kind heart, but also learn to protect it.
