Congratulatory Visit:

Recently, I was privileged to visit HE, Engr. Dave Umahi in his office, to congratulate him on his well deserved appointment as the Honourable Minister of Works, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Aside congratulating him as an individual, the visit also afforded me the opportunity to congratulate him on behalf of the Katampe Diplomatic Zone Abuja - FCT Neighbours, as well as, thank him on behalf of the District Head of Ijigban, Chief Christopher Onumah for his drive to link Ado LGA with Abakiliki through the Ulayi/Ijigban axis. He is doing this in conjunction with my good friend, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi who is a son of Ijigban!

Engr. Umahi's residence is less than 25 metres away from my Abuja home. He is a good neighbour. He was very helpful to us, especially in the area of security of the environment. I reminded the Minister of the annual flooding of the Katampe Canal which has over the years caused environmental hazards in the neighbourhood. He promised to liaise with FCDA to nip it in the bud.

While assuring him of my support when solicited, I updated him on the construction of the Otukpo/Utonkon/Igumale/Agila/ Ngbo Road envisioned to expressly link Benue with Ebonyi state. As Honourable Member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, I, in company of Dr. Sunday Orinya, visited the then Minister of Works, HE, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and lobbied him as well as the Director of Federal HighWays at the time.

The visit yielded some dividends as the Minister directed the design of the road which was to cost N28B. This was in 2021. But the lack of budgetary back up was the reason why it has not been done. I have diligently kept the photocopies of the Road Design and I told him so.

Engr. Umahi as Governor of Ebonyi State transformed it to a mini Dubai. Those of us who have known him and followed his politics, we believe, if given the conducive environment, he will replicate the Ebonyi magic wand at the national level.

The Honourable Minister is an archetypal 21st Century Engineer and he appears to have rolled up his sleeves already. And I am hopeful that very soon, the Otukpo/Utonkon/Igumale/Agila/Ngbo road will be put into the budget.

Rep Ottah Agbo Felicitates Constituents on Easter

The Honourable Member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/ Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo felicitates Christians on Easter.

Dr. Ottah Agbo in an Easter message to constituents urged the people to continue to keep faith alive and sustain the love and sacrifice learnt during the Lent.

The statement reads:

“On behalf of my family and the good people of Enone, I felicitate all Christian faithful on the occasion of Easter.

Thank You Enone For Lavishly Celebrating Democracy.

It Is Now Time To Roll Up Our Sleeves To Consolidate The Delivery of Concrete Developmental Deliverables To Our People...

Today, I filled and submitted the PDP nomination and INEC forms as our party's House of Representatives Candidate for the February 25 General Elections in Enone.

This was pursuant to the Thursday, 12th January, 2023, Appeal Court judgement delivered in Abuja Division. The court restored me to the House of Representatives ballot, for which I am eternally grateful to God, the judiciary and the long suffering people of Enone who have always stood by me!

The great people of Enone. As you all know, shortly after the landmark judgement, I promptly authorized the issuance of a conciliatory press statement in which I amongst other things, extended the olive branch to my opponents and enjoined my ardent supporters to be magnanimous in victory, for in the true sense of it, the verdict neither produced a victor, nor a vanquished! PDP is a family. There shouldn't fight, blackmail or propaganda. Let us unite.

Having said that, we are happy that the judgement clearly delivered substantive and substantial justice on our matter. In my opinion, it has put to rest the agitation in Enone. It has also energized the PDP...

There is no doubt that the Thursday judicial intervention was a relief to our people and particularly the PDP family. Enone expectedly erupted in a thunderous ovation within and without!

But it is high time the celebration stopped. We shall gloriously jubilate after the February polls, by the grace of God. There is so much work to be done within a short time. Elections are by the corner! We must roll up our sleeves to actively campaign and win the election so as to consolidate the transformation of Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo Federal Constituency.

Like I have always said, I have no human enemy to fight. My enemies are poverty, under-develoment, diseases, ignorance, oppression, hatred, pettiness and afflictions and we can only overcome them if we return to Parliament, to do what we know best to do, which in my opinion is selfless service to humanity! And working with all stakeholders, we shall truly turn our Federal Constituency into the centre of gravity of politics and development.

This is why we must translate the ovation arising from the landmark verdict to electoral victory come February, 25! But remember, only hard work can make it happen!

We must firmly put our hands on the plough and never look back until Enone becomes the Transformational cynosure in Benue South. This was the vision of our founding fathers in the First Republic. Already that journey has long begun.

We had hit the ground running from day one that the 9th Assembly was inuagurated. We have intervened in all critical sectors. We have gradually brought modernity to our land, we have been fair to all and sundry even though our priority is the common man on whose thighs sovereignty lies!

Our Federal Constituency has been turned into a construction site! The results are crystal clear; they are visible to the blind and audible to the deaf! But more and more work still needs to be done...

When we launched Operation Light Up Enone in 2019, our opponents said we were playing politics. In less than four years, almost all communities in Enone now enjoy electricity, borehole water, Primary Health Care Centres, ring road, rural roads, bridges, markets, empowerment schemes, etc. The communities yet to enjoy these infrastructure will surely get them WHEN we return for Second Term, by the grace of God and support of the electorate. This was the Social Contract we signed with the long suffering people of Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in 2019, and there is no going back on it.

Finally, I want to thank the leadership of our great party for steering the ship of PDP at such a difficult period in our nation's history. Thank you Enone. I want to again, and again seek the cooperation of my opponent and her team. Please let us work together to serve our people.
This is no longer time to fight, it is rather time for all hands to be on deck to work for Enone.

To my ardent supporters and indeed the great people of Enone, keep trusting me, for with me in the saddle, Enone is in a safe hand. Let us do it again come February, 25!

JOY OVERFLOW AS APPEAL COURT SACKS AIDA NATH: DECLARES HON OTTAH AS PDP CANDIDATE.

Like the Angels told Cornelius in Acts 10:4, the prayers of the good people of Enone have gone up as a memorial before God as the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja grant their wish by disqualifying Aida Nath and ordered the PDP to forward the name of The Hon. Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo to INEC as the validly nominated candidate for Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general election.

Hon Ottah had gone to court to challenge the eligibility of Aida to participate in the May 23, 2022 Primary Election of the PDP while on the payroll of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) without resigning as an employee. In a bizarre judgement on November 21, 2022, Justice Abdul Dogo of the Federal High Court Makurdi held that the contemplation of the 1999 constitution (as amended) in section 66(1)(f) is for Civil/Public servants to resign 30 days before the general election and not the primary election.
Dissatisfied with the judgement, Hon Ottah approached the court of appeal for interpretation of the said section and the violation of other subsidiary laws.

A 3 member panel of Judges comprising of M.I Sirajo (Presiding Judge), R.M Abdullahi and B.I Gafai heard the appeal on December 24, 2022 when counsel to Aida, Barr. K.C Ikonne withdrew his preliminary Objection to the appeal and tendered and apology to counsel to Hon Ottah, Chief Kanu Agabi S.A.N for wrongly accusing him and his client of not transmitting full record of the case. Judgement was thereafter reserved for a later date after all parties adopted their processes.

Delivering judgement on Thursday January 12, 2023, the presi, Justice M.I Sirajo held that the trial court erred when it said the appellant had no right challenge the decision of PDP to cleared the first respondent is perversed and hereby set aside.

On the merit of the case, the authority of Modibo vs Usman is relevant to this case and the decision of the first respondent not to resign her employment is against the provisions of section 66 (1)(f)

The participation of first respondent in the primary election of the PDP is Unlawful and invalid and is hereby set aside.
The appeal succeeds.

PDP to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Aida and a new one issued to the appellant.
