Meet Ferdinand, after 7 years of living abroad he returned home to spend time with his family. Tragically, his visit was cut short, & now he is gone

‎​At 29 years old, Ferdinand felt a deep longing for his family. He used his leave to come home & reunite with his mother, who had courageously raised him & his 2 siblings alone since his father's passing when Ferdinand was only 8

‎​Fortunately, Ferdinand received a scholarship to study & work abroad at age 22. He soon became the pillar of his family, ensuring his mother & younger siblings were well-cared for & happy.
‎​With a vision for the future, Ferdinand instructed his mother to build a lovely, suitable home for herself & another for him with the funds he sent. His plan was to return soon to marry & settle down with his long term girlfriend of 10 years..

When he arrived & saw the beautiful homes his mother had completed, he was overjoyed & deeply satisfied. ‎​After a few wonderful weeks with his mom & siblings. Despite his mom's refusals ,he insisted to visit his uncles in the village. According to him, he also wanted to share the happy news of his upcoming wedding, scheduled for a few months after he returned to his base.

‎​Unfortunately, on his way back from the village, while on an okada (a bike) Ferdinand was involved in a minor incident. The rider was completely unscathed. Ferdinand had only small scrapes on his knee & forehead of which he got a pharmacist to quickly tended to. And he was looking ok..

‎​Ferdinand later bought a ticket & traveled back to the UK. Heartbreakingly, just 3 days later, his family received a call informing them that their beloved son had passed away due to complications, suspected to be internal. ‎​Finally, Ferdinand was brought back home to be laid to rest.

Such a profound loss.
Rest in peace, dear Ferdinand.🙏

One of my classmates got married immediately after secondary school. She was my classmate and also our neighbor at home.

That girl got to me with her marriage and my mother used it as an opportunity to tr0ll me and talk to me anyhow.

We were just 18 years old at that time.
As if my mother's words were not enough, this girl would always ask me when I am getting married anytime she comes around to see her mum.

Nne marriage is important ooo go and marry now.
This one you are only interested in going to school.
You are nothing without a man and you know you are naturally fat before you know it now you will get old and men wouldn't look at you again.

Then my mother would hear her and start shouting. Nne tell her, tell her. Her mates are getting married and she is looking for admission with her size.
She doesn't know that men don't like plus size women.

Somehow I started avoiding this girl, I started getting scared anytime she came around.
To make matters worse I wrote a jamb and couldn't get admission into school. That extra one year I stayed at home was filled with pain.

My mother made sure I didn't get any form of financial help from her so I started teaching just to have a little money to Carter for my personal needs.
Thank God for my father that never looked away from me.

God showed me mercy and the next year I got admission into the university to study medicine and surgery.

During one of my breaks I came home and she visited. She had wanted to start with her talk again but this time I decided to face my fears.
I didn't even allow her to speak, I calmly moved close to her, with my eyeballs widely opened as I looked into her eyes.

Don't you ever in your life talk to me again. You choose marriage and I choose education. Face your life and let me face mine.
I saw the fear on her face and I was glad I took that bold step.

I was surprised at how she has been married for four years yet to conceive and still had the guts to talk to me about marriage.

I must confess that she really looked good, a lot changed about her and that was evident that her husband was doing a good job and taking good care of her. Maybe that was her reason for always rubbing the marriage on my face.

Years later, I graduated from school,got married and had three children. I heard she moved to another state with her husband and I never bothered to ask where. One time I visited my parents and I saw her.
She came to me and first started with an apology for all the things she said to me but I made it very clear to her that she is one person in this life that I have chosen never to forgive so she shouldn't bother.

She broke down in tears, it's been 14 years and they are still trying to conceive.

Have you people been to the hospital for a fertility test? I asked her.

Yes I have been the only one going and the doctor said I am fine. But my husband has refused to go for even one test.
He said he is fine because he got a girl pregnant in secondary school,she had a son for him and the boy is 23 years old already.

I looked at her in confusion, her tears melted my heart. She was crying uncontrollably and it was very obvious that her childless condition was taking a toll on her.

I consoled her,but I made it clear to her that it's not normal that her husband has refused to go for a fertility test, women are not the only ones with fertility problems.

I told her to go home, take her time, and search her husband's personal space. Look and see if she would find any test results somewhere. Looks like he is hiding something.

She went home and after some time she sent me test results via Whatsapp.
Her husband is sterile.
Like zero sp@m count.
Guess where she found the results....Inside his Bible.

I felt so bad for her, she kept crying asking me what she would do.

I later heard she left the marriage and again I didn't bother to reach out.
