FOMBINA PALACE MUSEUM

Lamido Muhammadu Bello Maigari (1924–1928)

Before his appointment as Lamido of Adamawa in 1924, Lamido Muhammadu Bello Maigari served as the District Head (Lamdo) of Nassarawo Jada, in present-day Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State. He is credited with founding Nassarawo and developing it into an important administrative center before ascending the throne of the Adamawa Emirate.

His distinguished record as a district ruler, coupled with his administrative experience and leadership, contributed to his selection as the 8th Lamido of Adamawa, succeeding Lamido Muhammadu Abba in 1924. His reign lasted until his death in 1928, during which he continued the administration of the Adamawa Emirate under the British colonial system while preserving its traditional institutions and heritage.

It's official: Modibbo Hamma Tukur has replaced Omar Suleiman as the ADC gubernatorial candidate for Adamawa State in the 2027 election.

In a congratulatory message confirmed by state party chieftain Musa Halilu OFR, Madibbo is praised as a better choice for the party due to his courage, loyalty, and dedication to the growth and development of the state and the party.

BREAKING: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Approves Major Road Projects for Adamawa State

Adamawa State has emerged as one of the beneficiaries of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR's massive infrastructure development agenda, with the approval of several strategic road projects aimed at improving connectivity, boosting economic activities, and enhancing the quality of life of the people.

Approved Projects for Adamawa State

- N83 billion for the Jimeta–Mayo Belwa Road Project.
- N62.99 billion for the Tungo–Karamti Road, including the construction of five bridges linking Adamawa and Taraba States.
- N58 billion for the rehabilitation of Phase II of the Yola–Hong–Mubi Road.
- N15.246 billion for Phase II of the Yola–Fufore–Gurin Road Project, covering an additional 20 kilometres following the successful completion of the first 17-kilometre phase.

These landmark approvals demonstrate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's unflinching commitment to expanding critical infrastructure across Nigeria and ensuring that Adamawa State receives its fair share of national development.

THE FIRST WOMAN TO ESTABLISH A COMMERCIAL AIRLINE IN NIGERIA.

Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Aisha Binani, was born on 11 August 1971 in Adamawa State, Nigeria. She studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering and later received further training in business management.

Aisha Binani is one of Nigeria's most prominent businesswomen. She founded the Binani Group of Companies, a diversified business conglomerate with interests in printing and publishing, construction, telecommunications, investments, and aviation.

Her most historic achievement came with the launch of Binani Air, making her the first woman in Nigeria to own a fully licensed commercial airline authorized to operate scheduled passenger flights.

This milestone places her among the very few women in Africa and around the world who have successfully founded and led a commercial airline—an industry that has traditionally been dominated by men.

Aisha Binani's success demonstrates that women can excel in major sectors of business through vision, determination, and hard work.

As a Fulbe/Fulani woman, she has showcased the significant contributions that Fulbe women make to their countries and to Africa as a whole. She serves as an inspiration to young people and women aspiring to build successful businesses, proving that no industry is beyond the reach of women who possess knowledge, dedication, and perseverance.
