If you want to lose weight, eat healthy without starving, and embrace exercise like your life depends on it.

I was about to check a patient’s blood pressure when he looked at me and said,

“Why did your husband allow you to work? If I were your husband, I wouldn’t allow my wife to come out and work.”

I understood where he was coming from. I work in the North, and for some men, they prefer their wives to stay at home and not work outside the house.

So I simply replied,

“If my husband didn’t allow me to work, you wouldn’t have me as your nurse.”

He looked at me. I looked at him.

We both smiled.
