NEWLY APPOINTED VICE CHANCELLOR OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LAFIA CHARGED TO UPHOLD INTEGRITY AND FAIRNESS IN SERVICE
The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, has been charged to uphold the principles of integrity, fairness, and justice in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The charge was given today in Abuja by the Founder and President of the Al-Ansar Foundation, Dr. Mohammed Kyari Dikwa, mni, during a courtesy visit by the Vice Chancellor–designate to his residence.
Dr. Dikwa described Professor Kida’s appointment as well-deserved and a testament to his hard work, dedication, and distinguished record of service in academia. He urged him to approach his new role with the fear of God, a deep sense of responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence and transparency.
He further advised the new Vice Chancellor to always consult widely and carry everyone along in the decision-making process, emphasizing that inclusive leadership and humility are the cornerstones of enduring success.
While offering prayers for a fruitful and impactful tenure, Dr. Dikwa encouraged Professor Kida to nurture cordial relationships with his colleagues, friends, and family, stressing that mutual respect and collaboration will be vital to his success as the institution’s helmsman.
In his response, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Dikwa for his fatherly counsel, goodwill, and continued support, which he described as both invaluable and inspiring.
He pledged to discharge his duties diligently, efficiently, and in accordance with the university’s core mandate of advancing learning, research, and service to humanity.
Professor Kida’s appointment, conveyed in a letter dated October 29, 2025, takes effect on February 11, 2026, when he will formally assume office as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, succeeding Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, whose tenure will end in February 2026.
Until his appointment, Professor Kida served as Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, and was also a member of the Governing Board of Al-Ansar University, Maiduguri, as well as the Al-Ansar Centre for Comprehensive Education (ACCE), Abuja.
An accomplished academic and professional accountant, Professor Kida is expected to bring his vast experience, visionary leadership, and passion for excellence to bear on the continued growth and transformation of the Federal University of Lafia.
