President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appoints Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman as the new Secretary of Government of the Federation.

She becomes the first woman to seat as SGF

Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman is a Nigerian politician with impressive credentials.

Born on January 2, 1976, in Zaria, Kaduna State, she's a member of the Fulani Sullubawa clan and a great-granddaughter of Abdullahi Bayero, the 10th Emir of Kano.

*Key Positions Held:

*Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
She served in this role from 2016 to 2021, implementing reforms and generating more revenue for the federal government.

*Chief of Staff, Kaduna State Government: Under Governor Nasir El-Rufai, she became the first woman to hold this position in Kaduna State.
*Special Adviser on Policy Coordination. Currently, she advises President Bola Tinubu on policy matters.

History of A*o Rock Villa

It was built by the construction giant, Julius Berger, in just 13 months. The contract was awarded by the military government of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida with a mandate for JB to begin and complete the construction work, from foundation to finishing, without delay.

Money was not a problem; it was supplied in sufficient quantity. Only the best materials were to be used. There was no room for compromise or half-measures. Everything was provided, and the best engineers and architects were deployed to the site.

Within 13 months, work was completed, and the magnificent edifice was given the name "A*o Rock Villa." This is the official residence and workplace of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is Nigeria's seat of power and serves the same purpose as the White House in America and the Jubilee House in Ghana

The President lives and works in the Villa. The Vice President does not live in the Villa. He lives in a residence outside the Villa, known as Aguda House. It is named after the Honorable Justice Akinola Aguda. Aguda was the chairman of the Committee for the location of a new federal capital territory for Nigeria. The committee was constituted by General Murtala Mohammed. Note, however, that the Vice President goes to work every day at the Villa.

President Ibrahim Babangida was the first head of state to occupy the villa when he moved in on December 12, 1991.

Unlike the American White House and other residences of presidents of various countries, which are mostly open to the public, A*o Rock Villa is a highly restricted area, probably for security reasons.

Visits to the villa are strictly by appointment, and visitors are usually subject to thorough security scrutiny before they can be allowed into the villa.

The villa is described by some as the most highly protected presidential residence in Africa.

After extensive consultations with my political associates, community leaders, party elders, and supporters, I, Hon. Jagaba, have decided to withdraw my candidacy from the ongoing race for the Chairmanship of AMAC.
This decision did not come lightly. It is rooted in my unwavering commitment to the unity, progress, and success of our great party and our beloved council. Politics, for me, has never been about personal ambition but about service to the people and the greater good of our community.
In the spirit of collaboration, peace, and collective interest, I hereby announce my total support and endorsement of Hon. Christopher Zaka Mai Kalangu as the chairmanship candidate. I believe in his capacity, integrity, and vision for the future of AMAC. I have full confidence that under his leadership, our council will witness greater development, transparency, and people-oriented governance.
