ADAMAWA POLICE WARN HUNTERS, VIGILANTES AGAINST ABU$E OF POWER FOLLOWING ELDERLY MAN'S ORDEAL
The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the alleged maltrèatment of an elderly man, Hamza Haruna of Yolde Pate, reportedly by members of a hunters' group in Molkohi.
Following the incident, Commissioner of Police Kabir Umar Hassan warned hunters, vigilantes, and other quasi-security groups against abuse of power, unlawful arrests, and any form of inhumane treatment.
The Command stated that anyone found culpable after the investigation will be prosecuted according to the law, reaffirming its commitment to protecting human rights and ensuring justice.
Police authorities also assured the public that efforts are underway to identify all those involved in the incident.
