Muhammed Babangida Denies Rejecting Tinubu’s Appointment

Muhammed Babangida, the son of former Military President, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, has denied reports that he rejected an appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

President Bola Tinubu had appointed Babangida as the Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA).

In a reaction to the reports, the media consultant to the Babangida family, Deyemi Saka, in a statement clarified that the purported letter of rejection is fake.
He added that mischief-makers seeking personal interests are responsible for spreading fake news and urged members of the public to disregard such reports.
According to the statement, Muhammed considers the appointment as a call to serve Nigeria.

Son of Former Military Head of State, Muhammed Babangida Rejects Tinubu’s Appointment

Muhammed Babangida, son of former Nigerian military ruler, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), has formally declined his appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a letter dated July 21, 2025, addressed to the President, Babangida expressed his appreciation for the nomination but respectfully turned it down, citing personal and professional constraints.
“It is a true privilege to be thought worthy of such a strategic role in advancing the nation’s agricultural and economic development,” he wrote.

Widow Sues In-laws Over Alleged Disappearance Of A Bag After Her Husband's Death

A widow Safiya Hassan Yakasai has sued two of her late husband's brothers to court over an alleged disappearance of a bag containing valuable documents after her husband's death.

Safiya Hassan Yakasai informed the court that the bag taken by her husband brotyers, Abdul Sallam Bello and Abdul Kareem Bello contained papers including landed property documents and other official records.

According to the her, it has been over a year and half since the incident happened and she is yet to receive any explanation or see the missing documents.

Bauchi State Bans DJs, Gala Events, Other Marriage Activities To Curb Rising Divorce Rates

The Bauchi State Hisbah Commission has announced a new set of rules targeting wedding and social gatherings across the state following what it described as a sharp rise in divorce cases.

According to the commission, the 16 new guidelines are aimed at restoring the moral and spiritual foundation of marriage. Among the banned practices are the use of DJs, gala events, kawayawade, aloba, and other forms of entertainment considered to promote immorality.

The commission said these guidelines will be strictly enforced at recreational centres, event venues, and clubs in line with sections 95, 362 and 373 of the Bauchi State Sharia Penal Code

Saudi Sleeping Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz  Kept For 20 Years Died At 35

His fathe, Prince Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz confirmed the news of his eldest son's passing  on social media. He writes: " With hearts believing in Allah will and decree, and with deep sorrow  and sadness, we mourn our beloved son: Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz may Allah have mercy on him who passed away."

Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal died after spending over 20 years in a coma following a severe brain injury from an accident at the age of 15 when he was studying as a military cadet in London. He was hospitalised at King Abdulaziz Medical City and was kept on a ventilator until his death.
