ABUJA, NIGERIA — 15 August 2026 — Nigerian recording artist, songwriter, filmmaker, entrepreneur and storyteller Don 3ple-ig has officially released his much-anticipated 16-track album, HIP-HOP & RnB RETURNS, through TDC Studioz. Now available on major digital streaming platforms, the album marks a powerful return to the expressive storytelling, heartfelt R&B melodies and message-driven hip-hop that have shaped his creative identity.
More than an album, HIP-HOP & RnB RETURNS is a living archive of experiences. Across its 16 songs, Don 3ple-ig revisits love, heartbreak, fatherhood, faith, temptation, betrayal, celebration, crime, emotional healing and the determination to rise above difficult beginnings. The project brings archived lyrics and long-held ideas into the present with refreshed production, modern Afro-fusion, reggaeton, Amapiano and R&B influences—without losing the honesty of the original stories.
The album’s central message is captured in the campaign declaration: “Real stories. Real vibes. Timeless lyrics.” Don 3ple-ig writes from experience, turning memories into music and pain into power. Every bar carries a piece of his journey; every song opens a different chapter.
“This album is a return to the kind of hip-hop and R&B that made us feel, think and connect,” says Don 3ple-ig. “These are not empty songs. They come from things I have lived, witnessed, imagined and carried with me for years. I am bringing the stories home, but giving them a sound for today.”
A Journey from Prayer to Purpose
The album opens with “5:45am (Ghetto Gospel)”, a spiritually grounded and socially conscious record whose title carries a personal connection: Don 3ple-ig later discovered that 5:45 a.m. was also the time of his birth. Built around early-morning reflection, the song moves through prayer, gratitude for life and health, love for family and supporters, compassion for people facing hardship, and hope for the wider community. It is gospel from the street—not in the conventional sense, but as testimony shaped by survival, faith and responsibility.
From that reflective opening, the album moves into “Beauty From Above,” a romantic portrait inspired by an encounter with a woman at the plaza where TDC Studioz once operated in Lugbe, Abuja. What began with a photo session and words typed in the studio became a poetic celebration of beauty, possibility and an imagined future.
“Better Half” continues the search for genuine companionship, presenting love as partnership, balance and emotional completion. “Bring Back Romance,” the album’s first major hip-hop and R&B duet, brings together two souls wounded by failed relationships and longing for a love strong enough to restore what the past had taken away. Its conversational performance gives the song the feeling of a short film told through melody and rap.
Faith, Fire and Social Consciousness
On “Fire 4 Fire,” Don 3ple-ig turns to scripture and spiritual resistance. The brief but intense prayer freestyle confronts hatred, destructive energy and perceived spiritual opposition, drawing inspiration from passages such as Psalm 35. It is a hard-edged fusion of street testimony, biblical conviction and hip-hop defiance.
The mood changes with “Friends With Benefits,” an Afrobeat and Amapiano-infused reflection on one-sided relationships. Rather than referring only to romance, the title speaks to people who remain close merely to take—draining energy and enjoying benefits without contributing anything positive. The serious observation is delivered through a rhythm designed for the dance floor.
“Gimme Inner Peace” reveals a more vulnerable side of the artist. Written from the emotional position of someone longing for a relationship that can heal wounds and fill the spaces companionship was meant to fill, the song balances sadness with hope. It speaks to anyone who has desired not merely a partner, but a safe emotional home.
Social warning takes centre stage on “Gotta Be Careful.” Written more than a decade ago, the reggae-leaning record addresses fraud, drugs and crime with a message that feels even more urgent today. Its caution is direct: choices have consequences. By reviving the song for a new generation, Don 3ple-ig demonstrates why socially conscious reggae and hip-hop remain evergreen.
Celebration, Cinematic Love and Emotional Reckoning
“Happy Birthday Remix” reimagines a song first recorded in 2009. Initially conceived to celebrate people born in May, it grew from a simple realization: every day is somebody’s birthday somewhere in the world. The original became memorable enough to be adopted for birthday programming by a radio station in Benue State. This revamped edition introduces a modern African Afro-fusion energy, transforming the record into an evergreen celebration for every age and every season.
On “I Was In Love With You,” a storytelling duet follows two people who were drawn to each other but separated by misunderstanding. The young woman initially misread the man’s intentions, only for time, maturity and honest conversation to reveal what both hearts had carried. Told with cinematic detail, the record unfolds like a short romantic film with music as its dialogue.
“Made Me Cry” confronts the pain of being undervalued during humble beginnings. Don 3ple-ig recalls a woman who treated his sincere love with disdain, then sought to return after seeing him step into the spotlight. The song asks a difficult question: when someone recognizes your worth only after the world begins to notice you, can their return still be called genuine love?
One of the album’s most intimate moments arrives with “Msaandoo.” The song is dedicated to Don 3ple-ig’s first child. Before her birth, a scan did not reveal the baby’s gender, but he had already accepted that either a boy or a girl would be a blessing from God. When his daughter was finally placed in his arms, he closed his eyes and found the name “Msaandoo.” He later poured the joy of that moment into song. The track is therefore more than music—it is a father’s preserved declaration of love and a family story given permanent life.
Desire, Destiny and the Final Statement
The explicit “Sexual Healing” explores adult intimacy, desire and emotional release. Delivered through sensual writing and romantic imagery, the record presents physical closeness as part of well-being and human connection while showcasing Don 3ple-ig’s more daring, erotic lyricism.
“She Is Your Girl” tells a romantic triangle through storytelling rap verses and a melodic female chorus. At its heart is the belief that what is truly meant for a person can survive obstacles, provided they play their part and allow destiny to complete the journey. The love that first seemed uncertain ultimately finds where it belongs.
“That Feeling” captures the electricity that language sometimes struggles to explain—the attraction, anticipation and emotional pull that announce themselves before the heart has fully understood them. It functions as one of the album’s emotional bridges, connecting the project’s romantic memories with its renewed confidence.
The closing track, “You Gonna Know Remix,” brings the album to a determined finish. After the prayers, confessions, love stories, warnings, heartbreak and celebration, Don 3ple-ig ends with a statement of identity and arrival. The comeback is no longer a promise; it is something the listener has now experienced across the full record.

Although much of HIP-HOP & RnB RETURNS grew from archived lyrics and ideas written across different chapters of Don 3ple-ig’s life, this is not simply a nostalgic project.
