Last Friday, I attended a one-day media review meeting organized by Nasarawa State Ministry of Health in Partnership with Breakthrough Action-Nigeria at Nasarawa Luxury Hotel, Lafia. The meeting was focused on eradicating Tuberculosis (TB) and Malaria.
After the opening session, we splitted into smaller groups to brainstorm on ideas for radio and TV programmes aimed at raising awareness about Tuberculosis and Malaria. Each group had 10 diverse participants, 5 OAPs and 5 Producers, we were tasked with developing engaging contents that could both educate and motivate the public to take preventive measures.
We started by identifying the key messages we wanted to convey: the symptoms of TB and Malaria, the importance of early detection and treatment, and the availability of free medical services. From there, ideas flowed freely.
After several hours of intense brainstorming, each group presented their ideas. The room buzzed with excitement as we listened to the innovative concepts. It was clear that everyone was committed to making a difference.
The state Coordinator of Breakthrough Action-Nigeria, Mr Thomas Ohobu expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm at the end of the workshop. He praised our creativity and stressed the importance of implementing these ideas quickly.
As we left, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. The day's discussions had been enlightening, and I was eager to start working on bringing our ideas to life. I also couldn't help but think about the impact our efforts could have. With the right messages and platforms, we had the power to educate and empower communities, potentially saving countless lives from TB and Malaria. The workshop was just the beginning, the real work lay ahead, and I am ready to dive in.
