The Institut Français du Nigéria is the agency in charge of promoting French language and culture in Nigeria. Created in 1999, the Institut Français du Nigéria formerly known as French cultural centre is situated in the very heart of Abuja at 52, Libreville Street, Wuse 2 since 2009. A central meeting place, the Institut Français du Nigéria focuses on promoting and sharing the French language and

franco-nigerian cultural exchanges as well as promoting higher education in France. A centre “par excellence” for learning French, we offer classes targeting different audiences; different levels, different objectives and tailored to every particular need: whether it is for children, students, or professionals. We are also an accredited centre for international examinations in French language such as DELF DALF and TCF. We also have a computer based self learning centre for you to enjoy. Cultural activities at the Institut Français du Nigéria aims at offering an easy access to Nigerian and French cultures through an excellent programme as well as supporting promising Nigerian artists either in Nigeria or in France. With more than 50 events on its cultural calendar, we are one of the major cultural centres in Abuja. Through its multi-media library, the Institut Français du Nigéria also offers the possibilities to access a great variety of books, newspapers and magazines, dvds and tablets. Moreover, cultural classes are also available such as piano classes, classical dance classes, salsa dance classes, guitar classes, art classes, choir singing classes for young ones and adults. Finally, our professional translation cell will help you translate a document into either French or English from either English or French.

This project aims to enhance French language learning, develop students’ transversal skills, and strengthen their employability.
