Unity and Solidity: Leaders and Groups Rally Behind Yerima Shettima

A Historic Display of Collective Support for Justice, Peace, and Progress...

By AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku, Kaduna-Nigeria

BTvNEWS: In a remarkable display of unity and solidarity, Ambassador Yerima Usman Shettima, a renowned pro-democracy activist, and Hon. Shehu Sani Sado, Chairman of Capacity Movement Initiative, received a powerful delegation of Islamic Ulama, students' union representatives, entrepreneurs, and leaders of twenty-one different groups in his office on Wednesday in Kaduna.

The visit, which drew participants from diverse backgrounds, served as an affirmation of the people's confidence in Shettima's leadership ideals and the Capacity Movement's mission, BTV News reports.

Fielding the newsmen during the visit, the delegation expressed deep appreciation for Shettima's decades of sacrifice and service in defending democracy, human rights, and the dignity of Nigerians.

The leader of the Ulama, Imam Abubakar Abdullahi, emphasized that Shettima's courage and refusal to compromise the truth have made him a leader and a moral compass in the struggle for justice.

He stated: "We pray for divine guidance and protection for him, urging him to remain steadfast in his principles as a beacon of hope for the younger generation," they said.

During the same visit, the students' union representatives led by Anas Yusuf of NANS, Kaduna State Chapter, and Imam Alhassan of KADSSU-ABU Chapter, both highlighting Shettima's consistent advocacy for quality education, youth empowerment, and inclusion in governance.

"His ability to connect with young people through mentorship and his commitment to giving them a voice in national issues has distinguished him as one of the few leaders who truly understand the aspirations of the youth," Anas stated.

The leader of the entrepreneurs within the delegation, Umar Hassan, spoke passionately about the challenges facing small and medium-scale businesses, ranging from lack of access to credit facilities to poor infrastructure and government neglect.

"Shettima's visionary leadership offers a pathway to solutions that will unlock creativity, support local businesses, and create employment for millions of Nigerians," he stated.

Responding to the show of solidarity, Ambassador Yerima Shettima expressed profound gratitude to the delegation, noting that their visit symbolized the collective will of the people for change.

"My political and social struggle has always been about service, not self-interest, and I assure you that I will never betray the trust reposed in me by the people, "he stated.

"The transformation cannot be achieved by one individual but by the collective sacrifice of all," he added.

"Under my watch, Kaduna central would be recognized not only in Kaduna state, across the federation, and even internationally due to the plans I have for the zone," he further emphasized.

Shettima encouraged the youth, Ulama, entrepreneurs, and different groups represented to continue to see themselves as stakeholders in the process of supporting his vision.

In the same vein, Hon. Shehu Sani Sado, Chairman of Capacity Movement, commended the delegation for their courage and commitment to the cause of a better society.

"The unity of purpose displayed by the different groups is a clear demonstration that youths are ready to rise above division and collectively chart a course toward sustainable progress," he stated.

He reaffirmed the movement's determination, "We stand firmly on the side of the truth and will continue to project leaders who embody competence, capacity, integrity, and a genuine love for humanity," he further stressed.

The gathering, marked by prayers, goodwill messages, and renewed commitment, served as a reminder that when diverse groups unite under a common vision, their collective strength becomes an unstoppable force for change.

The solidarity expressed has further strengthened the bond between Yerima Shettima, Shehu Sani Sado, the Capacity Movement, and the people they represent with passion and sincerity.

According to the statement released to the media by the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan on Saturday.

DSP Mansur Hassan, the Command's PPRO, stated that the suspect whose name was not revealed in the statement was said to have been apprehended around 3:30am on Saturday by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) at a popular hotel in the metropolis.

We wish to reiterate that anyone found attempting to undermine the electoral process will face the full wrath of the law."

Beyond 'He Said; She Said': The Rise of Green Journalism

A new approach to journalism prioritizes sustainability, empirical research, and data-driven insights to drive climate action...

By AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku, Abuja-Nigeria

BTvNEWS: In the face of the pressing global challenges posed by climate change, environmental degradation, and biodiversity loss, journalism plays a pivotal role in shaping public discourse and driving meaningful action.

Effective journalism transcends superficial reporting, instead relying on rigorous empirical research, data-driven insights, and scientific evidence to inform and engage audiences.

For seasoned journalists like Comrade AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku, a distinguished science, environmental, and investigative journalist at BTV (Online TV, Radio and Publication) – Climate and Peacebuilding Reporters and African Climate Reporters (ACR), this approach is not merely a best practice, but an essential component of responsible and impactful journalism.

In today's world, where the consequences of climate change are being felt across the globe, from ravaging wildfires to devastating floods, journalists have a critical role to play in raising awareness, shaping public opinion, and driving climate action.

By adopting a more sustainable approach to their craft, journalists can help to promote environmental awareness, hold those in power accountable for their actions, and inspire meaningful change.

This involves not only covering environmental issues but also incorporating eco-friendly practices into their daily work, from reducing paper waste to minimizing their carbon footprint.

As a science, environmental, investigative, and peacebuilding journalist, Comrade AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku has had a front-row seat to the devastating impact of climate change and environmental degradation.

Through his work with BTV and ACR, he has highlighted the importance of empirical research and data-driven insights in crafting compelling stories that drive meaningful action.

By leveraging scientific research and data analysis, journalists can provide their audiences with a more nuanced understanding of complex issues, empowering them to make informed decisions about their own lives and the world around them.

The benefits of green journalism are numerous. Not only can it help to reduce the environmental footprint of the journalism industry, but it can also enhance the credibility and relevance of reporting.

By prioritizing sustainability and eco-friendly practices, journalists can build trust with their audiences, establish themselves as thought leaders, and drive climate action.

Moreover, green journalism can help to promote a more sustainable future for generations to come, inspiring meaningful change and driving progress towards a more environmentally conscious world.

However, the transition to green journalism is not without its challenges. Journalists often face significant obstacles, from limited resources and tight deadlines to the pressure to prioritize sensationalism over substance.

Nevertheless, the imperative of green journalism cannot be overstated. As Comrade AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku notes, "Rising to the Challenge: A Collective Call to Action for Environmental Journalism" is not just a rallying cry but a necessity.

By working together, journalists can drive meaningful change, promote environmental awareness, and inspire a more sustainable future.

Through his work, Comrade AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku has demonstrated the power of journalism to drive climate action and promote environmental awareness.

From covering environmental issues to advocating for sustainable development and social justice, his reporting has highlighted the critical role that journalists can play in shaping public discourse and driving meaningful change.

As the world contends with the existential threat of climate change, the importance of green journalism cannot be overstated.

In conclusion, the imperative of green journalism is clear. By adopting a more sustainable approach to their craft, journalists can drive meaningful change, promote environmental awareness, and inspire a more sustainable future.

As Comrade AbdulHakeem Mutiu Adejumo-Ajeseku notes, "Dear fellow pen pushers, let's also go green" – it's not just a moral imperative but a professional necessity.

By prioritizing sustainability and eco-friendly practices, journalists can ensure that their reporting not only informs but also inspires meaningful action.

Ultimately, the future of journalism depends on its ability to adapt to the changing needs of the world. By embracing green journalism, journalists can ensure that their craft remains relevant, impactful, and sustainable for generations to come.

As the world continues to struggle with the challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, and biodiversity loss, the role of journalism in shaping public discourse and driving meaningful action will only continue to grow in importance.
