Tech Symposium Africa 2025 – Recap

The maiden edition of Tech Symposium Africa, held at Merit House, Abuja on the 30th of April, 2025, was a major success, featuring a powerful keynote address by DIG Hashiru Salihu Argungu (rtd), Chairman of the Police Service Commission, who delivered a thought-provoking and visionary speech.

We hosted three impactful panel sessions, with professional insights from John Odumesi, Chinenye Chizea, CISSP, CEH., Adekunle Matthew, David Opeyemi Oke, Chukwuka Isaac, Leyii Mikko, OLUMUJI Peter, Dr. Bayero Agabi, and Eromosele. These sessions were moderated by Nasir, Ifeoma Favour, and Olatunji Atoyebi and covered crucial topics around tech innovation, data harmonisation, and entrepreneurship in Africa’s digital economy.

A major highlight of the event was the book launch by Hanniel H Jafaru, the Executive Director of HTC Academy and Convener of Tech Symposium Africa 2025, who unveiled two books:

📘 Cyberspace Chronicles – A compelling exploration of digital technologies, the cybercriminal mindset, and a strong advocacy for the establishment of cyber police.
📗 Becoming a Tech ExpertPreneur – A practical guide offering a step-by-step approach to becoming a tech expert from a regular enthusiast, and progressing to a tech entrepreneur from an expert.

Both books are now available for sale. However, Becoming a Tech ExpertPreneur is currently open for pre-order.

In addition, Hanniel Jafaru officially announced the launch of the HTC Tech CAMP Initiative—a bold and transformative project designed to train and mentor over 100,000 tech enthusiasts, equipping them with the tech skills and guidance needed to become highly competent tech experts across various tech fields.

We also had extensive media coverage from leading organisations, including NTA News Nigeria LTM, AIT Online, and Radio Nigeria, helping to broadcast the event’s impact across Nigeria.

Worthy of mention are Nyanabo - BL, LLB,MSc, ANIPR and Ovine Ojo-Gabriel, head of Exceptional Services, for their beautiful touch to the event as Event Compere (MC) and Ushering Team.
