I woke up to a minor asthma attack this morning, and amid the discomfort, a thought crossed my mind with a little smile. My maid was curious why someone who had just nearly faced death would be smiling, so I shared my thought with her. It was a simple yet profound realization that gave me a new perspective on life.
I thought about how swiftly things can go from bad to worse, and then end. Witnessing someone else's near-death experience can make everything you cherish—your children, spouse, parents, extended family, friends, job, skin, property, even your phone—seem both meaningful and meaningless in the blink of an eye. Everything can become someone else's in no time.
We can’t be certain we’ll achieve all our goals or attain success despite our hard work. What we can be certain of is that our time will eventually end, whether near or far.
In everything I've experienced, I firmly believe that my Creator is merciful. His mercy surpasses His anger, and He does not judge people or situations superficially as we humans often do. At every point, in life or death, He will always be merciful to me.
I wasn’t scared because I trust that even if my life had been lived terribly, my Creator, who created everything with purpose, will not take me until my purpose is fulfilled 😊. So, if it had happened this morning, it would simply mean that my purpose had been fulfilled.
I would meet Him knowing I did the best I could, and even if it was just a little, I did it with a smile . I will be assured that my purpose made a difference, maybe not so much, but little on Earth.
May we all have the opportunity to live with purpose until the end. May we all meet our Lord in peace.

Smile!
Even in the face of adversity, smile. You are here for a reason, and nothing happens without its reason. So, smile 😊
