The attack happened on Tuesday night just days after members of the community’s vigilante group were redeployed to Katsira, leaving Tarah exposed.

It was gathered that the motor boy, who has yet to be identified, was said to have died on the spot.

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, NiHSA, has raised alarm over dangerous levels of groundwater contamination in parts of Lagos, Kebbi and Kogi States, warning that prolonged consumption could lead to severe health complications.

Director-General of the agency, Umar Ibrahim Mohammed, disclosed the findings in Abuja while presenting the latest Water Quality, Flood Assessment and Validation reports.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA, has revealed a significant increase in the number of men reporting cases of gender-based violence, with the figure rising to nearly 8,000 in 2025, up from an average of about 300 in previous years.

The disclosure was made by the agency’s Head of Community Services, Damilare Adewusi, during the 2025 International Men’s Day commemoration and a Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, SGBV, awareness programme held in Lagos.

Elder statesman and coordinator of Igbo Agenda Dialogue, Chief Chekwas Okorie, has pointed out that creating a new State out of Nigeria is the most difficult thing to do at this point.

Okorie, during a crucial meeting by the Igbo Agenda Dialogue in Abuja on Wednesday, said that the 1999 constitution makes it easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a new state to be created.
