‎I'm writing this because I genuinely don't know what else to do.
‎
‎A few months ago, my friend introduced me to this page, and I know she follows it too. At this point, this is probably the only way I can get other people's opinions without exposing her identity.
‎
‎My friend has been involved with a married man for almost three years now.
‎
‎She's beautiful, intelligent, hardworking, and honestly has so much going for her. That's part of what makes this situation so painful for me to watch.
‎
‎Throughout this relationship, she has had four abortions for this same man.
‎
‎I was there for three of them.
‎
‎I followed her, supported her emotionally, and tried to be there for her as a friend.
‎
‎Last week, she went through the fourth one.
‎
‎When she told me she was pregnant again and wanted another abortion, I finally told her I couldn't be part of it anymore.
‎
‎Not because I hate her.
‎
‎Not because I'm judging her.
‎
‎But because I feel like this situation is hurting her more than she wants to admit.
‎
‎The moment I refused, everything changed.
‎
‎She started insulting me.
‎
‎She accused me of being jealous of her.
‎
‎She said I was trying to control her life.
‎
‎But honestly, what exactly am I jealous of?
‎
‎Watching someone I care about go through the same painful cycle over and over again?
‎
‎I don't see anything to be jealous of.
‎
‎The last abortion was particularly scary.
‎
‎She bled for 17 days afterward.
‎
‎Seventeen days.
‎
‎I was worried sick.
‎
‎Even then, she still went back to the same man.
‎
‎She blocks him today and returns to him tomorrow.
‎
‎It's like she knows the relationship isn't good for her, but she just can't let go.
‎
‎The man spends money on her.
‎
‎He buys her tickets.
‎
‎He takes her on trips.
‎
‎He promises her things.
‎
‎Right now, it's a house and a shop that seem to be keeping her attached to him.
‎
‎And that's what scares me.
‎
‎Because from where I'm standing, it feels like she's sacrificing too much of herself for a man who is already married and continues to keep her in this situation.
‎
‎I've thought about telling her mother.
‎
‎I've thought about telling her sister.
‎
‎But I know she would never forgive me if I did.
‎
‎At the same time, I feel helpless watching someone I care about make choices that could affect her future.
‎
‎Maybe our friendship is already over.
‎
‎Maybe she will never speak to me again.
‎
‎But despite everything, I genuinely wish her well.
‎
‎I just want her to be okay.
‎
‎So let me ask...
‎
‎If your close friend was in a situation like this and refused to listen to advice, would you keep trying to help, or would you step back and let them learn from their own decisions?
‎
‎
‎

‎Everything about this man is amazing, but there's one thing he does that I honestly can't stop thinking about.
‎
‎Good afternoon, everyone. I need honest opinions because I've been overthinking this for a while.
‎
‎Earlier this year, in January, I met a man from America. He works for a multinational company, and his company provided him with accommodation in Owerri while he's working here.
‎
‎We got talking, became close, and eventually started dating.
‎
‎Things have honestly been going well between us.
‎
‎Sometime in May, he told me he loved me, and to my surprise, I realized I loved him too.
‎
‎As a single mother, finding someone like him hasn't been easy. Most of the men I meet either disappear the moment they find out I have a child or they're only interested in one thing.
‎
‎This man was different.
‎
‎He accepted me and my child without hesitation.
‎
‎He's calm, kind, generous, and very easygoing. When he travels or is away for work, he even allows me to stay at his place in Owerri. He's been nothing but good to us.
‎
‎But recently, I noticed something that I find a little unusual.
‎
‎He loves children songs.
‎
‎And I don't just mean casually.
‎
‎Whenever we're spending private time together, even during se* he'll sometimes play songs like Baby Shark, Wheels on the Bus, Cocomelon, and other children's nursery rhymes.
‎
‎At first, I thought it was a joke.
‎
‎But then I realized he actually knows many of the songs by heart.
‎
‎In fact, there are songs and videos he knows that even my child doesn't know yet.
‎
‎He's the one who even introduced me to some children's content that I later started playing for my child.
‎
‎The first few times, I ignored it.
‎
‎But after a while, I started feeling a little uncomfortable and confused.
‎
‎So I finally asked him about it.
‎
‎His response was simple.
‎
‎He said the songs don't mean anything special. According to him, he genuinely likes them, finds them relaxing, and says they help him feel calm and comfortable.
‎
‎He didn't seem bothered by it at all.
‎
‎But I won't lie, it has been on my mind ever since.
‎
‎I've even found myself searching online, trying to understand whether this is something normal or if I'm just overthinking it.
‎
‎Apart from this one thing, I genuinely have no complaints about him.
‎
‎He's been good to me, good to my child, and good to our relationship.
‎
‎So now I'm curious.
‎
‎Am I making a big deal out of something harmless, or would you also find it unusual if your partner loved listening to children's songs this much?
‎
‎What do you honestly think?
‎

‎I was excited about getting married until one conversation made me start having second thoughts.
‎
‎Please, I genuinely need advice because this has been on my mind ever since it happened.
‎
‎My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year, and recently, he proposed to me. Naturally, I was happy and looking forward to planning our future together.
‎
‎Everything seemed fine until we started discussing what married life would look like for us.
‎
‎During one of our conversations, he brought up finances and said he believes married couples should share responsibilities equally. According to him, his parents handled things that way throughout their marriage, and that's the model he wants us to follow.
‎
‎I asked him what exactly he meant.
‎
‎He said we should split financial responsibilities 50/50.
‎
‎Things like rent, utility bills, household expenses, and other costs should be shared equally between us.
‎
‎I thought about it and told him that if we're both working and earning, I could understand contributing financially to the home.
‎
‎But then I asked a follow-up question.
‎
‎If we're sharing the bills equally, can we also share the housework equally?
‎
‎Can we both cook?
‎
‎Can we both clean?
‎
‎Can we both handle chores together?
‎
‎His answer surprised me.
‎
‎He said those responsibilities should still be mine as the wife.
‎
‎Honestly, that's the point where something changed for me.
‎
‎I suddenly started feeling uncomfortable.
‎
‎Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I couldn't understand how the finances should be split equally while the domestic responsibilities remain mostly on one person.
‎
‎Since that conversation, I've found myself looking at the relationship differently.
‎
‎I still care about him, but I won't lie, I've started having cold feet about the marriage.
‎
‎What worries me is not even the money itself.
‎
‎It's the expectation behind it.
‎
‎If we're both contributing equally financially, shouldn't we also contribute equally in running the home?
‎
‎Or am I looking at it the wrong way?
‎
‎For context, we both have jobs and earn our own income.
‎
‎Nobody is unemployed.
‎
‎Nobody is being forced to carry the entire financial burden alone.
‎
‎I know different couples have different arrangements, and what works for one marriage may not work for another.
‎
‎But this particular conversation has left me confused.
‎
‎Part of me wonders whether I'm being unreasonable.
‎
‎Another part of me wonders whether this is something I should pay close attention to before walking down the aisle.
‎
‎So please, be honest.
‎
‎Would you be comfortable with a 50/50 financial arrangement if the cooking, cleaning, and household responsibilities were still expected to be handled mainly by one person?
‎
‎Or do you think both finances and domestic responsibilities should be shared equally?
‎
‎I'd really like to hear your thoughts before I make any decisions.
‎
‎
‎
