Reply to National Youths Coalition on their advice to:

1. Senator David Mark
2. The PDP Governors’ Forum
3. The PDP National Caucus
4. The PDP National Caucus
5. The PDP Association of National Ex-officio Members of the PDP NEC

It has come to our notice that another deserted group by the name *National Youths Coalition* has now been pushed to spread more lies and falsehoods against the PDP leadership, further misinterpreting the PDP constitution and the functions of the organs of the party.

The group has falsely arrogated the powers to appoint or elect a national officer to the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT). Now, let the sponsors of this group know that the constitution of PDP only allows the BoT to ensure morality in all the activities of the party. Also to harmonize, coordinate, review and advise on programmes and activities of the party.

The BoT functions do not cover setting up a committee to scout for a PDP national officer to replace another national officer. If the suggested imposition should hold, it means the BoT is only overstretching their boundaries.

The group above has mischievously dragged in the person of His Excellency, Senator David Mark into already subsiding PDP interest tussles, perhaps to curry favour of Senator Mark's credibility, just to enable them fly a kite of their usual deception, in order to revisit the already ill-fated northcentral daydreaming scheme.

In the politics of Peoples Democratic Party-PDP, there's no room for intimidation. Nobody can intimidate others, in any guise.

Therefore, we would want to inform this ragtag coalition group and their confused patrons that we will continue to let the party elders have their respite, while the young ones take up the centre stage leadership. This is the new vision in PDP. Then, to drag and overlabour an elder statesman as David Mark is a big disservice to PDP.

On special appeal, we'll call on all groups to stop exploiting party elders forthwith. Party elders are to have their rest while they advise the party. Nobody should drag party leaders on a matter the PDP critical stakeholders have already settled. Equally, let party elders stop making themselves available to political jobbers.

Let David Mark be allowed to enjoy his retirement peacefully. David Mark knows that it's an aberration and unconstitutional to allow only one man to search for the so called credible and acceptable candidate from the North Central. Let this porous Coalition group know that PDP didn't zone chairmanship to the Northcentral, rather to the entire North, comprising Northeast, Northwest and Northcentral.

On Northcentral, all plans are on ground to intensify efforts to win back all PDP faithful, especially National Assembly members, including Hon. Blessing Onuh, the daughter of David Mark, who currently belongs to All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group has accused the Acting National Chairman, His Excellency, Ambassador Umar Damagun of holding two national positions. This is not true, as section 45(2) of the PDP constitution allows Damagun to act as National Chairman pending the election of a replacement. This is the true position of things in PDP. The People still clamouring for Northcentral, even when PDP entire family didn't zone chairmanship to Northcentral, have a hidden agenda.
They'll continue to fail. Let them know that Damagun is a detribalised leader, and for everybody.

Again, Damagun is not occupying two positions. PDP Constitution allows him to function as the Acting National Chairman, and to become a substantive National Chairman, while the entire North should work out modalities to replace the position of Deputy National Chairman (North) as Damagun awaits his confirmation as National Chairman.

Let the group know that the National Working Committee (NWC) under Dr Bamanga Tukur was different from the NWC under Prince Uche Secondus. Secondus as National Chairman had two Deputies, one to cover up for either North or South. PDP NWC under Senator Iyorchia Ayu ( present NWC) followed same pattern as NWC under Secondus with two Deputies.

Hence, from PDP constitution, upon the exit of Ayu, the onus now lies on Damagun from the North to step in and further proceed with ratification, if necessary, to enhance speedy discharge of his official duties.

A precedent already exists about this in PDP, such that when Prince Secondus from South-South exited PDP, his Deputy National Chairman ( South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi from South-West, succeeded him. This is the latest development to work with in the PDP, without any further sentiments.

Meanwhile, under Damagun leadership, PDP has delivered electoral successes which have strengthened the grasp of PDP in the grassroots in Nigeria. The below Federal Constituencies are among them; Igabi Federal Constituency, Kaduna State;
Udenu/Igbo-Eze North Federal Constituency, Enugu State; Fika/Fune Federal Constituency, Yobe State; Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency, Jigawa State; Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency, Sokoto State.

Also are Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency,Taraba State, and Plateau North Constituency, including more than 10 State Constituencies for the State Assemblies, and the party still counting.

Therefore, we urge all PDP members both at home and in the diaspora to remain focused, and extend their unflinching support and loyalty to Ambassador Umar Damagun led NWC that is already consolidated, to continue party reforms and progress. There's no vacancy in the PDP National Chairmanship seat. We'll continue to support Damagun-led NWC to stabilize and unify PDP, and for them to serve out their term next year 2025.

PDP: A Resilient Party Standing Strong Against Sabotage

By Young Doctor Gombe

They left PDP to form APC, but when the APC failed to meet their expectations, they returned to the PDP. The PDP, despite knowing their role in building the APC and contributing to Nigeria's challenges, welcomed them and gave them opportunities. Now, they are once again trying to undermine the PDP by secretly working on creating another coalition party.

But let it be clear: no matter how many times they will leave, PDP will continue to stand strong and thrive.

If your intentions are truly for the good of Nigerians, then PDP remains the best platform for you. We call for unity, peace, and progress to secure a brighter future for our nation.

Stay tuned for my next write-up: “Mega Opposition Party: Not a Threat to the PDP”

CALLING ON SENATOR WABARA TO SIT UP

Commenting on the Address of the PDP BOT Chairman, HE Senator Adolphus Wabara,Ph.D at the Emergency Meeting of the Board, on Thursday, 5th December 2024

From the address, the PDP BOT Chairman, HE Senator Adolphus Wabara, Ph.D, reminded all that, the BOT is the conscience of the party. That's true as PDP constitution accords the BOT that right.

Ahead, the BOT Chairman bemoaned the shift of date for the upcoming NEC meeting and blamed the NWC for not keeping to timelines and commitments. And according to him, the issue of date is non-negotiable.This shows a special interest being pushed by the BOT Chairman.

Now, looking at the disposition of the BOT Chairman on the postponement, one would ask, where is the 'Party Conscience' that he touted vehemently, without even showing concern for the reason why the postponement. Now, you see, this is the challenge that we talk about in PDP. We all see that the BOT Chairman isn't in good state with the NWC, yet he wants to be settling crisis. Can you imagine!

We always give it to the BOT as a forum for the elderly. Hence a reservoir of decorum and peace. It now obvious that the BOT Chairman is serving another interest other than PDP.

The reason for the postponement of the NEC meeting was for a state burial ceremony, which attracted visitors across the world. Now, according to BOT Chairman, the NWC should've abandoned a strong and bereaved stakeholder of the party in such a critical time for the party to join him to sober. Again, where is the conscience of the party if we adhere to this?

Even if the BOT Chairman wasn't aware of the reasons for the postponement of NEC, shouldn't he have come forward to ask others? We learned he wasn't there for the stakeholders meeting with the governors in Jos, Plateau State.

We'll only appeal to the BOT Chairman to put aside whatever grudges that he has against the PDP NWC, and resolve to work with others to build PDP.

The decision to postpone the NEC meeting was welcomed and strongly supported by the PDP governors, especially as that would equally enable them to honour and identify with their colleague governor.

The BOT Chairman apportioning blames on the NWC without care shows a division, and further confirms the aged suspicious that the BOT Chairman has taken sides.

Let the BOT Chairman know that it's better we remain in PDP and build PDP than ceding our party to the Labour Party as he is already working with his boss. Let him know that Damagun and NWC are not fighting him, rather they expect him to show statesmanship in PDP and be sincere.

We want to let BOT Chairman know that section 45(2) of the PDP constitution allows Ambassador Umar Damagun to continue as National Chairman and serve out their present tenure next year 2025. Therefore no vacancy in the PDP chairmanship. Hence any further insinuation about this remains a mischief.

We want to appeal to the BOT Chairman to drop this stern bias against the NWC. Again, let the BOT Chairman show a selfless leadership for others to follow. From the exposition of the BOT address today, PDP family made a discovery that will help. It's obvious that the BOT Chairman must be dispassionate. Let him stop the surreptitious fight against NWC and stop working for Labour Party, and be ready to genuinely work to move PDP forward. Let’s hope the BOT Chairman will turn over a new leaf.

Ondo State PDP Advocacy Group lauds PDP NWC for suspending Hon. Ologunagba and Kamaldeen Ajibade

Yesterday it was a moment of great joy and renewed enthusiasm with hope that PDP will surely bounce back to power soon, when the news of the suspension of the National Publicity Secretary, Hon Debo Ologunagba and his colleague, the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN, filtered in.

Before now, our group and PDP members across the southwest have become saddened and overwhelmed with the ignoble and diversionary dirty jobs of the duo of the suspended National Publicity Secretary (NPS) and National Legal Adviser (NLA).They have both continued to work at variance with the PDP leadership. Instead they chose to be meddling and hobnobbing with other political parties that are against PDP, including all anti PDP elements.

Not long, Mr Debo Ologunagba had a clandestine meeting with the APC governor of Ondo State, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in Abuja. The details of their repulsive nocturnal dealings are yet to be made public. It has become so unfortunate that while we work tirelessly to deliver PDP in Ondo State, some are already frolicking with our opposition. What a big shame!

Therefore, Ondo State PDP Advocacy Group will commend the PDP National Working Committee, as ably led by Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, who in their wisdom, tolerated these funny characters in the NWC fold before wielding the stick now. We will want to relay our unshakeable confidence reposed in the committee headed by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja to deliver justice.

We will want to appeal to our teeming and energetic members and the entire PDP family to remain focused and committed to our continued support for justice, equity and fairness in our party. Again we are elated to have the new great leaders, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi Manga, Esq, and Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha as our Acting National Publicity Secretary and Acting National Legal Adviser, respectively, in the National Working Committee (NWC). We pray that God Almighty will energize both of you to serve our party in the most competent and loyal manner, to enable the latest peace and unity drive to thrive.

No doubt, with this latest resolve from the NWC, PDP is beginning to prune its tree from the unwanted plants and distractions.

Long live PDP
Long live Nigeria

Breaking News

PDP National Woman Leader yet to account for the massive funds and support to the National Women Campaign Council in Edo State.

Amid the colossal rigging of the September 21, 2024 Edo State gubernatorial election by the APC government, we are also concerned over the shabby and incompetent mobilization regimen deployed by the PDP National Woman Leader, despite the massive funding and support of women campaign council. A failure that equally threatened the expected win to the PDP.

As we mourn this r**e of democracy by the brazenly fraudulent subjugation and intimation of the Edo citizens who genuinely wanted to exercise their voting rights but denied by the APC militarization and commercialization of the electoral process in the State, we call on PDP National Woman Leader to come forward to account for the funds and finances she received from different quarters.

Different PDP women groups have agonised and cried for lack of motivation and support before and during the Edo State election. Again, we call on PDP National Woman Leader to come out clean and render public account of the funds received during her national women mobilization exercise in the just concluded Edo State gubernatorial election.

PDP CRISIS: Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has announced the endorsement of Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum as Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Borno, and Yobe states.

Fintiri expressed confidence in Damagum's leadership, citing a Federal High Court Abuja restraining order that necessitates Damagum's completion of former Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu's tenure.

The Governor praised Damagum for restoring public confidence in the party and urged members to respect the court's decision.

Fintiri highlighted the party's exceptional performance in the North East region during the 2023 elections, asserting the zone's deserving status for the National Chairman position.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the PDP and affiliates from appointing or replacing Damagum with any other Chairman.

PRESS RELEASE

Coalition Of Northern Nigeria PDP Youths hails the massive endorsement of Amb. Damagun and the PDP National Working Committee by Southwest Governors

Our coalition group wants to state that it became a great day, today on the September 18, 2024, for us the young people in the northern Nigeria, especially in my state; Gombe State, when the news of the massive endorsement of Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun led National Working Committee (NWC) by His Excellencies, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state, came in to accelerate, one more time, the growing support to the incumbent PDP NWC by the enlightened masses of Nigeria.

To our coalition group, it wasn't a case of zoning or micro-zoning. It was a case of pointing out some fifth columnists who are on a mission to polarize the northern Nigeria into multiple divides, in the name of micro-zoning.

To many of us, we believe north is one, and that it's only on the ground of political exigency that we go to the long haul of conjuring our inner local identities and dichotomies to allocate privileges. Not withstanding, the North is one, especially as the PDP constitution confers it such status.

Our group will want to appreciate and salute immensely the courage of southwest governors for the different milestones that they are accomplishing in the southwest Nigeria. Governor Makinde and Governor Adeleke have been industrializing and developing the states of Oyo and Osun respectively in Nigeria.

Just yesterday, Makinde flagged off the upgrade of the Ibadan airport, renamed Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to international standards. And said that the project would transform Oyo State into a regional economic hub. And that the project would gulp N41 billion for the first phase of the upgrade. The implication of this project is that from Oyo State you can travel to any part of the world. What a great feat!

The northern PDP youths will equally appreciate Governor Adeleke who started with massive turnarounds in the grassroots development of Osun state.
With the dualization of osogbo- ikirun road with street light; 10.5 KM ; Oja oba (iso isu/ iso ata/ iso eran/ iso ewe)- First Baptist Model Academy with spur to Oba Oyetona street, Enuwa- oniyangi – ita osun -oke atan with spur to egbedu-ilode junction ile, Ibadan/ife express junction- islamiya okiti junction ikire.

Governor Ademola Adeleke did other great and laudable projects, including working to bringing tourism to a greater height in Nigeria.

To some of us and many from the northern Nigeria, we're aware that the declaration to support the Damagun led NWC by Governor Makinde and Governor Adeleke yesterday was more than a blessed gift coming from the duo great governors of the southwest states.

And watching Makinde speak: " I was reading yesterday that there was another meeting again in Bauchi by some NWC members, and let me say it clearly, I've been discussing it with my brother on our way here, we're 100 percent in support of Umar Damagun led NWC, whatever decision you will take, we'll support you to reposition our party".

This declaration was timely and has ignited a new cause for appreciation and continued unity in PDP family. The initiative was very deep.
This Makinde cm Adeleke intervening panacea is what will safeguard PDP venturing further into the uncharted precincts of the Nigerian politics, going forward.

While the entire northern youths will continue to show Governor Makinde and Governor Adeleke our appreciation, we'll suffice it to say that the news gave a strong matching order in northern Nigeria today. Makinde and Adeleke are great political leaders.

From some of our villages and towns here in the North, it was all hurray and hurray with strong aroma of jubilation. The southwest governors made us proud. PDP has never had it this emancipating and energising.

Yesterday in our towns in Kwami, Nafada in Gombe State, or going to Wurno, Sabon Birni, Shagari in Sokoto State, also in Jos South, Jos North and Bokkos in Plateau State, PDP members were all agog in utmost enthusiasm in a lasting joy with the new vision.

The southwest PDP governors supported the truth, and that has enliven the hearts of many in Nigeria and has broaden another perspective in PDP.

The northern youths bemoan the ongoing suspicion and mistrust occasioned by political neophytes in PDP who arrogantly retort that everybody can be bought over. Their suspicion stems from the arrogance and believe that they know it all in politics. They believe they can predict politics, not knowing that politics is all about human beings with avalanche of uncannily unpredictable idiosyncrasies.

Yes, in politics, one may know the beginning of an event but unable to know the ending. We wouldn't say much, for now. But the task out there is for us in PDP to build our house. This latest vigour coming from the southwest has really challenged us for more positive actions.

The Makinde cm Adeleke declaration reunited the north again. In our broad discussions in the North, people are now saying that the north is one as envisioned in the PDP constitution.
According to Makinde and Adeleke, the immediate task for now is how to deliver the ticket of Dr Asue Ighodalo in Edo State, and nothing more.

This great declaration by these great southwest governors gave the PDP family a full sense to align with patriotic party duties and dwell less in the politics of bickering and mudslinging. It means we should find more avenues to develop our PDP states with outstanding projects as that will position us as models in Nigeria. Enough of overheating the polity through inglorious plots and scheming.

Our coalition group would want to affirm that winning elections in Nigeria is another task to pursue in PDP. No doubt, that this intervening awakening will rekindle hope that PDP is already charged to bouncing back again to power in 2027.

Already, our people have started calling and making movements to identify with this glorious clarion call that came from Governor Seyi Makinde with a strong support of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The two great productive governors of yoruba land, after endorsing the PDP Damagun headed leadership, made it clear that this is the time to work to deliver the PDP candidate for the Edo State gubernatorial election that is already at hand.

From the perspective of Governor Makinde and Governor Adeleke the tasks at hand should either be that we're developing our states or that we're delivering more states to PDP.

Endorsing Damagun means that our governors are quite abreast of the rules of our party. No matter what section of the PDP constitution that one is quoting, the truth remains that Damagun is the rightful person to serve out the remaining period available to their tenure.

To an average southerner, the PDP chairmanship position was zoned to the North, and not northcentral. The emotions or arguments of northcentral are not in the PDP constitution. Damagun is from the north where the last National Chairman comes from. But people who have ulterior motives to accomplish have continued to cause distraction in the PDP family.

We are highly aware that Damagun has since left the position of the PDP Deputy National Chairman (North). He now occupies the office of the Acting National Chairman waiting to be confirmed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great party. We are also aware that very soon we will all gather to endorse Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun as our substantive National Chairman.

Again, we will continue to show special appreciation to the governors of the southwest states for coming out to tow the line of equity, justice and fairness. At the appropriate time, we the northerners will reward our distinguished executive governors of the southwest: Governor Seyi Makinde and Governor Ademola Adeleke. Again, on behalf of the teeming young people of the Coalition of Northern Nigeria PDP Youths, we say special thank you!

LEAVE NWC ALONE, WIN EDO ELECTION FIRST - ODION TELLS BALA MOHAMMED

Benin, Edo State - Mr. Odion, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Esan Central in Edo State, has criticized Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, for prioritizing his 2027 presidential ambition over the party's immediate goal of winning the Edo governorship election.

Odion expressed disappointment that Governor Mohammed is focusing on internal party politics, particularly with the National Working Committee (NWC), rather than supporting the party's candidate, Dr. Asuerinme Ighodalo, in the September 21 election.

"Governor Mohammed should leave the NWC alone and focus on delivering Edo State to the PDP," Odion stated. "This election is crucial for our party, and we cannot afford distractions."

Odion's comments come amidst growing concerns that internal power struggles within the PDP may hinder its chances of winning the election.

PRESS RELEASE

The NorthEast Youth Ambassadors call on Governor Bala Mohammed to put aside his presidential ambition and work for PDP unity

Our group has risen to look into the recent meeting between Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and a few members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), which was held on September 17, 2024.

While we acknowledge the advisory role of the past leadership of PDP Governors’ Forum to entrench peace and unity in PDP, we will reject the present insistence by the leader of the forum Senator Bala Mohammed who solely wants to impose and foist his incendiary approaches to create more divisions within the National Working Committee (NWC) and eventually work against the generality of the burgeoning PDP family.

We are not against a governor becoming a political leader in his state, but that should come through dedication and hardwork, and not through inheritance or imposition. It must be earned.

The leadership of the Northeast Youth Ambassadors has resolved to stand against any move from any quarters to further cause division in the PDP family. And we equally frown at the latest encampment of some NWC members to address and woo them, on behalf of other PDP governors, when other NWC members were on duty call to Borno State to show solidarity with the victims of flood and the people.

We strongly align and support the present leadership of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) as ably led by His Excellency, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun. The PDP NWC has just set up Reconciliation and Disciplinary committees. We'll urge all and sundry in our dear political party-PDP that these committees should be allowed to work.

The continued pressure from external forces, the latest coming from Bala Mohammed, is beginning to cast a serious shadow of doubts and mistrust, which might dull the job and progress of the committees. Here, other members of the PDP Governors’ Forum must show concern and prevail on Governor Mohammed to show leadership and withdraw from taking sides within the PDP fold.
Both the governors and other stakeholders of the PDP should be equally carried along at all times. Even at the level of governors' solidarity, other PDP members should matter.

To attend to party issues, we would want to urge the PDP family to apply the rule of law.The PDP has a constitution that expressly allows Ambassador Umar Damagun, from the North, to continue with the leadership of the National Working Committee (NWC) as the National Chairman upon confirmation by the NEC.

Thus far, this has a precedent, where Elder Yemi Akinwonmi ( from Southwest) had to serve out the tenure of Prince Uche Secondus. And this particular precedent is the newest in their succession. We will abide by it.

Our group will hope that the governors' forum, though not an organ of the PDP, will continue to advise the party through mediation, diplomacy and not this compellence against elected party officers, as it's being fashioned out now. We therefore appeal to other PDP Governors to address Governor Bala Mohammed. On no account should any PDP leader rock the boat.

The youths of the NorthEast, and by implication the entire Nigeria, would want to make it clear that the role of the PDP Governors’ Forum is to develop PDP states and work assiduously to entrench peace and unity in PDP family, and not to fan the embers of division. The governors are our leaders, and the National Working Committee has consistently supported them.

We would want to urge Governor Mohammed to either re-engineer the governors’ forum appropriately to focus on her core mandate, and steer it to align with the mission to build PDP through equity, justice and fairness or let him assign the burden of the leadership of the forum to another, who is willing to do so, to enable him focus on his presidential ambition.

We quite acknowledge the fact that anybody can aspire to become the president of his or her country, but not to the pleasure of pulling down others alongside the entire PDP house. Let people who wish to vye first show integrity, and step aside to pursue their presidential ambitions and not muddle up things by using a revered forum such as PDP Governors’ Forum to bulldoze their way. PDP should put aside this rising upsurge to drag governors' forum by the forum's leadership. It's not sustainable.

The NorthEast Youth Ambassadors would want to make it abundantly clear that if Damagun's leadership of PDP as National Chairman, and he coming from same NorthEast, conflicts with any personal interest, we must be sincere and see that development not Damagun's making. It was Senator Iyorchia Ayu , from same North as Damagun , who resigned.
Therefore, from time to time, our group has resolved that we will be informing the PDP family and Nigerians the roles of different stakeholders in the party.

Going forward, we'll spell out the main organs of the party properly. All stakeholders will have to know their limits in the party to further forestall recurring conflict of interests. The PDP Governors’ Forum is made up of governors with unflinching character and great integrity. They cannot be stampeded or harangued in any guise. We appeal to all PDP governors to see through this latest ploy to enlist the forum to achieve a personal ambition. Pitting different party organs against one another isn't the best strategy to support PDP.
The PDP family will reject this move. It is polluted and unpopular.
