This recognition means a lot to us all.

Congratulations to my mother and leader, Her Excellency, Bishop Mrs. Eyoanwan Otu, Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, on being honoured with the First Lady of Impact Award 2026 at the Accolade Yellow Ball & Awards.

It was a great privilege for me to receive this award on behalf of Her Excellency at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on May 8, 2026.

I sincerely appreciate the organisers for recognising Her Excellency’s remarkable humanitarian efforts, compassionate leadership, and unwavering commitment to positively impacting lives across Cross River State and beyond. This honour reflects her dedication to service, empowerment, and the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable communities.

Congratulations once again, Your Excellency. Your impact continues to inspire hope and transform lives.

I had the honour of accompanying the Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Bishop (Dr.) Eyoanwan-Itam Bassey Otu, to a special Ramadan fast-breaking gathering with Muslim women in Calabar.

Held in the spirit of Ramadan, the event was a beautiful moment of reflection, unity, and shared purpose. The First Lady, in her remarks, encouraged Muslim women across the state to continue to uphold the values of love, selflessness, and sustained prayers for leaders at all levels, emphasizing that unity remains key to building a stronger and more cohesive society.

I commend Her Excellency for her inclusive leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of all Cross Riverians. The gathering truly reflected compassion, unity, and the importance of bringing people together regardless of faith or background.

She also conveyed the goodwill of the Governor, Prince Bassey Otu, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to inclusiveness and the well-being of every citizen.

The event featured inspiring goodwill messages from dignitaries, including the Special Adviser on Programmes, Apostle Queen Eton, alongside other speakers who encouraged the women to continue to uphold strong family values and live lives rooted in kindness and unity.

As part of the outreach, relief items such as wrappers, bags of rice and beans, as well as cash gifts were distributed to support beneficiaries during this holy season.

It was indeed an impactful and inspiring gathering, one that continues to strengthen unity, promote interfaith harmony, and reinforce our shared commitment to peaceful coexistence in Cross River State.

Happy Eid al-Fitr

I extend heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Cross River State and to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora as we celebrate the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

I join Cross Riverians at home and abroad in celebrating this season of faith, sacrifice, and renewal. Ramadan reminds us of the enduring values of discipline, compassion, and generosity, virtues that continue to strengthen our communities both locally and across the diaspora.

This season also reflects the beauty of unity and our shared humanity, bringing people together across borders in the spirit of peace, understanding, and mutual respect.

I pray that Allāh accepts your fasting, prayers, and all acts of devotion, and grants you and your families peace, good health, and continued blessings. May we all be granted the grace to witness many more Ramadans. Āmīn.

On Sunday, my beloved husband, the Cross River State APC Chairman, and I had the honour of joining Her Excellency, Bishop (Dr.) Eyoanwan Itam Bassey Otu, alongside the First Family, the Voice of God Christian Mission Inc, clergy, and faithful, at the Headquarters of Voice of God Christian Mission Inc. to commemorate the blessed memory of her late father, Bishop (Dr.) Daniel Lawrence Nkpang Ene Itam, Founder and First President of the Mission, 33 years after his passing.

The Memorial Thanksgiving Service was a deeply moving and reflective gathering, celebrating the enduring legacy of a man whose life was wholly devoted to God, service to humanity, and the advancement of His work.

It was inspiring to witness the profound impact of his life, one that continues to resonate across generations, reminding us that a life dedicated to God never fades, but lives on through the countless lives it has touched.

We were honoured to stand in solidarity with the First Family and the entire Voice of God community in gratitude to God for the rich spiritual heritage left behind. Indeed, his vision continues to guide the mission and strengthen the faith of believers.

It was a solemn yet uplifting moment of reflection, unity, and thanksgiving.

Last Friday, I was warmly received at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, by the Chairman of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM), Otuekong Chief Otu Okor.

I am sincerely grateful for the honour and warm reception. It was a thoughtful gesture that reflects the unity and strong sense of collaboration within the Commission.

I am equally appreciative of my fellow Commissioners and the dedicated staff of CRIDCOM who further came to my residence to celebrate and welcome me. Your presence, kind words, and show of support meant a great deal to me.

Moments like this reaffirm the strength of our shared vision and our collective commitment to advancing the mandate of the Commission.

Thank you all once again for the love and solidarity. I look forward to continuing our work together in promoting investment, strengthening diaspora engagement, and delivering meaningful impact for our dear state.

Over the weekend, I was deeply honoured to be received with so much warmth and enthusiasm upon my arrival in Calabar.

I was particularly delighted to be welcomed by members of the Mma Adiaha Worldwide Alliance for Development, alongside the Chairman of Boki Local Government Area, Eti-Eka Hon. Mrs. Beatrice Nyiam, who graciously mobilized and led the Boki APC Women in such a remarkable show of support and solidarity at the airport.

From there, we proceeded to my residence where I was further received by a vibrant gathering of supporters, stakeholders, and well-wishers. The outpouring of love, unity, and goodwill was truly humbling and deeply appreciated.

Moments like this remind me of the strength we possess when we come together with a shared vision; to foster community development, strengthen diaspora engagement, and create meaningful impact across our local government areas.

I remain committed to serving diligently in my role as Commissioner for Investment Promotion and Tourism at CRIDCOM, and as Chairperson of the Local Government Focal Points Committee, working collaboratively with dedicated individuals across the state to drive progress and inclusive development.
