Let's Celebrate our silent warriors!💪

World Sickle Cell Day is observed annually on June 19 to raise global awareness about sickle cell disease and advocate for equitable patient care.

The global theme for the 2026 observance is "Closing the Survival Gap: Equity in Sickle Cell Disease". As we care for the Warriors living with Sickle cell disease, let us remember to continue working for Prevention and health education campaigns for pre marital screenings etc to prevent more incidence

Every person deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life with the right support.❤️

6 REASONS WHY ANTIBIOTICS MAY FAIL...

"I took antibiotics for 5 days and I'm still not getting better!"

Have you ever heard someone say this? Or maybe you've experienced it yourself?

The truth is that antibiotics don't always fail because the drug is bad. Sometimes, the way they are used is the problem.

Here are some common reasons antibiotics may not work:👇

~ Taking antibiotics for a viral infection: Antibiotics kill bacteria, not viruses. Conditions like the common cold, most sore throats, and many cases of flu are caused by viruses.

~ Taking antibiotics with Soft or carbonated drinks:
Taking antibiotics with Soft drinks or carbonated drinks may interfere with drug absorption, reduce drug effectiveness and worsen side effects.

~ Not completing the prescribed dose: Stopping treatment because you feel better can allow some bacteria to survive and become harder to treat later.

~ Skipping doses:
Missing doses gives bacteria a chance to recover and continue multiplying.

~ Self-medication:
Using antibiotics without proper medical advice may mean you're taking the wrong drug for the infection.

~Antibiotic Resistance:
Over time, some bacteria develop ways to survive antibiotics. This is one of the biggest public health challenges in the world today.

💡 Remember: Not every fever, cough, or body pain requires antibiotics.

The next time you're prescribed an antibiotic, use it exactly as directed and avoid sharing it with others.

THE SOAP THAT CURES MALARIA (Antimalarial soap 😂) 🦟

Yesterday, I went to the market to buy a few groceries and while passing through one corner, one woman loudly called me 😅
‘Fine girl! Come and buy this soap o… it cures malaria!’ 😂
At first, I thought she was joking… but she was very serious.
And honestly, it reminded me of how many myths about malaria still exist around us today.”

~THE TRUTH ABOUT MALARIA:
Malaria is caused by parasites transmitted through the bite of infected female mosquitoes.

~NOT by:
❌ Sun exposure
❌ Eating oily food
❌ Stress
❌ Dirty water alone
❌ Or spiritual attacks
And please… 🚫 Soap does NOT cure malaria.
No bathing soap, black soap, herbal sponge, or “special mixture” has been scientifically proven to cure malaria.
Some things may help you feel fresh during illness, but malaria parasites live in the bloodstream and must be treated properly.

~REAL SYMPTOMS OF MALARIA MAY INCLUDE:
• Fever • Chills • Headache • Weakness • Body pains • Vomiting • Loss of appetite.

~WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
1. Get tested before taking malaria drugs.
2. Use recommended antimalarial medications from a qualified health professional.
3. Sleep under treated mosquito nets.
4. Clear stagnant water around your environment.

~Another important truth many people ignore:
Not every fever is malaria.
Typhoid, viral infections, stress, dehydration, and other illnesses can sometimes mimic malaria symptoms. That’s why proper testing matters.

😂 But market people sha… Today it’s “malaria curing soap,” tomorrow it may be “toothpaste for waist pain.” 😭
You can sell your market o, but don't deceive people. 😀

💡 INTERESTING FACT ABOUT PREGNANCY 💡

Ever wondered why first pregnancies sometimes come with more complications?

Interestingly, researchers believe one reason may be because the woman’s immune system is still “meeting” the father’s genetic material for the first time. Repeated exposure before pregnancy may help the body become more familiar with it, improving how the placenta forms and attaches to the womb.
And since poor placental development is linked to complications like preeclampsia, this could partly explain why first-time pregnancies are often monitored more closely. 👀

Pregnancy is not just about carrying a baby… it’s also a complex immune conversation between mother and child. 🧠❤️
