PART 2 WE LEFT THE HOUSE BEFORE MIDNIGHT

I stared at him.

“Leave? Tonight? But why?”

He didn’t answer.

He simply grabbed his jacket and opened the door.

I followed him, completely confused.

“Wait! You can’t just tell me we’re leaving our wedding home without explaining anything.”

He finally stopped.

Then he looked at me with an expression I had never seen before.

“Because if we stay here until midnight, you may never get the chance to hear the truth.”

My heart began pounding.

“What truth?”

He looked toward the hallway.

“Your father never told you what happened ten years ago, did he?”

I froze.

“My father? What does my father have to do with this?”

My husband pulled out the photograph again.

“Look at the woman carefully.”

I looked at her face.

Something about her suddenly seemed familiar.

Not her face exactly…

but the necklace she was wearing.

I had seen that necklace before.

In an old photograph in my father’s bedroom.

“Where did you get this?” I whispered.

“My mother gave it to me.”

I looked at him in shock.

“Your mother?”

He nodded.

“She was the woman who wrote that message.”

My hands began to tremble.

“Your mother knows me?”

“She knew your family.”

He paused.

“And she begged me not to marry you.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Then why did you?”

He looked directly into my eyes.

“Because I fell in love with you before I discovered who your family was.”

Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door.

We both froze.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

My husband slowly walked toward the door.

“Don’t open it,” I whispered.

The knocking stopped.

Then a woman’s voice came from the other side.

“Please…”

My husband turned pale.

I had never seen him look so frightened.

“Who is that?” I whispered.

He didn’t answer.

The voice came again.

“Tell her the truth before it’s too late.”

My husband stepped away from the door.

Then he looked at me and whispered:

“That’s the woman in the photograph.”

I felt my entire body go cold.

Because the woman in that photograph…

had supposedly died ten years ago.

It Was Our First Wedding Night… Then My Husband Did Something Strange

The wedding was perfect. Everyone danced, laughed, and wished us a happy marriage.

But when we finally got to our room that night, something felt… different.

My husband locked the door, sat on the edge of the bed, and stared at me silently.

I smiled and asked, “Honey, what’s wrong?”

He reached into his suitcase and brought out a small envelope.

“This is for you,” he said.

I opened it—and my heart almost stopped.

Inside was an old photograph of a woman I had never seen before.

I looked at him in confusion.

“Who is she?”

He took a deep breath.

“That woman is the reason I almost didn’t marry you.”

I couldn’t speak.

Then he turned the photograph over.

There was a message written on the back:

“If you marry her, tell her the truth about what happened on your first wedding night.”

I looked at my husband.

“What truth?”

He stood up, walked toward the door…

…and said, “We need to leave this house before midnight.”
