“Your voice is your product — treat it like gold.”

As an MC, your voice isn’t just a tool — it’s your BRAND, your SIGNATURE, and your MONEY-MAKER.

But if you’ve ever found yourself waking up the next day with a sore throat, raspy voice, or completely silent vocal cords after an event, then you know the panic that follows:

1. “What if I have another event tomorrow?”
2. “What if this becomes permanent?”
“Am I damaging my career?”

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?

Most MCs lose their voice because of:

1. Straining too hard to be heard (especially over loud DJs or poor sound systems)
2. Yelling instead of projecting
3. Talking too long without rest
4. Dehydration
5. Poor mic technique
6. Not warming up the voice before use.
Here's how to protect your voice like a pro:

✅ 1. WARM UP YOUR VOCAL CORDS BEFORE THE EVENT:

Do light hums, lip trills, and sirens (from low pitch to high) 5–10 minutes.
“The stronger your vocal warm-up, the less damage your cords will take.”

✅ 2. MASTER MICROPHONE TECHNIQUE:

Bad mic usage = shouting. Good mic usage = smooth delivery.

Hold the mic close (but not too close). Speak into it, not across it. Let the mic do the amplification — not your throat.
PRO MC TIP: When the DJ is loud, don’t compete with volume. Pause. Let the DJ lower the volume — then continue. That pause earns you respect.

Practice speaking with breath control, posture, and volume — without tension in your neck.

👑 GRACE JAMES — The Classmate Who Showed Up Years Later Like Destiny!

Back in primary school, we were friendly rivals —
First position today, second tomorrow — we took turns at the top!
Grace James was one of the sharpest minds I ever sat beside. But after primary school… life happened.

"HOW NOT TO EMBARRASS YOURSELF AT A WEDDING RECEPTION:– 14 MOVES!"

If you read through all these things I wrote, and you still think I'm not experienced enough to handle your events, na wao for you oh 😄

1. DON'T DRESS ANYHOW:
Respect the dress code. Don't wear tight clothes that is likely to tear 😂— hmm.
I don tell you oh! 😀
Or clothes that won't allow you to dance.

Many people come late to events because they want people to notice their dressing. Don't over-dress than the couple. You are not the center of attention of the day! You 'MIGHT' embarrass the couple, and that's not fair at all.

2. DON’T ARRIVE LATE:
😂 Mr. or Mrs. Grand Entrance please 🙏
If all the guests arrive like you, will the event start on time?
And latecomers are the ones fond of complaining about time taken. So come early.

When you arrive don't drag chairs – It's not a market place. You are distracting the event. Be quietly and maturely seated.

3. DON'T FIGHT OVER FOOD:
Calm down ......🤣
I know it's very painful but.... you can buy some of these things. Vex but vex only when you reach house biko🙏 Na beg I beg you oh.🤣

4. DON’T BRING EXTRA GUESTS UNINVITED:
It’s not a rally na 😂
Na why food no dey reach people. And please don't show your foodie character of collecting food thirty times. Why must you collect extra food and hide when people have not all eaten? You are selfish!😂 If na you now food no reach you, you go swear for everybody. 🤣

5. DON’T BEG OR DRAG FOR SOUVENIRS:
I know it's painful but if it wasn’t given, let it go. Don't start shouting and quarreling in public. Na your own people go see— your bad character. Vex oh but vex only when you reach house.
