While still an undergrate I visited my friend Manasseh Mshelia who I met through a mutual friend Henry Ligari.

I saw some of his books and naturally I was impressed by the kind of books he read. They were my kind of books; focusing on leadership, organizational growth, self-development etc.

Manas was aware that I love knowledge and he immediately proceeded to tell me about one of the books that intrigued him at that time. It was the book by Simon Sinek', Start with Why.

Though I had already purchased the same book and devoured it myself, his insight was mind-blowing. He saw how intently I look at his own copy, he would never imagine that I had mine in the shelf. "I am giving you this book." He said.

I normally would have confessed and admitted that I have one already, but I was too smart for that. I collected the book. The gift was not the book but the parts he highlighted himself with his light green marker.

I quickly gave out my copy to another friend and kept his copy for myself.

A copy I treasure till today.

Sometimes you need a friend like Manas to show you what you have been missing even when you think you have it.
