🎯✨ Data is no longer just a tech issue. It is a sovereignty issue, an economic issue and a national security issue.
Nigeria’s move to keep payment transaction data on local servers could become a major turning point, but only if it is handled properly.
The opportunity is huge. Local data centres, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, privacy tools, compliance systems and digital skills could all benefit.
But the risk is also real. Data sovereignty should protect citizens, not become another way to watch them.
The real question now is implementation.
Can Nigeria build the infrastructure, trust and protection needed to make this work?
