Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate Leads Nigeria’s Preparation to Host Global AMR Conference – Krystal TV Reports

Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has inaugurated the Ministerial Advisory Committee ahead of Nigeria’s hosting of the 5th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), set for June 29–30, 2026 in Abuja — the first time the event will be held on African soil.

The committee brings together key ministries, agencies, and global partners, reflecting Nigeria’s strong commitment to a coordinated “One Health” approach under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr. Ayoade Alakija was announced as Ministerial Global Envoy on AMR, with Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu joining as senior advisor. The NCDC will serve as secretariat.

Nigeria is poised to deliver a world-class conference focused on access, stewardship, innovation, and financing in the fight against AMR.

Vice President Shettima Commissions Key Road in FCT

Vice President Kashim Shettima today commissioned the newly constructed Collector Road CN8 (Asuquo Okon Street), linking Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) to Arterial Road N1, along with other connecting roads in Dakibiyu, Abuja.

He was joined by the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, and Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud. The project is part of the FCT Administration’s effort to improve road connectivity, ease traffic, and enhance development across the city.

NITDA DG, Minister Bosun Tijani Launch MTN Nigeria’s Cloud Service & Tier III Data Centre in Lagos

The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has joined the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, to unveil MTN Nigeria’s cutting-edge Cloud Service and Tier III Data Centre in Lagos—marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.

In his goodwill message, the DG described the launch as a strategic move to strengthen the nation’s digital infrastructure and promote homegrown tech solutions.

He emphasized that the project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in driving economic diversification through industrialisation, digitisation, and innovation.

According to the DG, the initiative also reinforces Nigeria’s “Nigeria First” policy by empowering local providers and enabling greater adoption of cloud computing and AI technologies.

The event drew key industry stakeholders, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (represented by SSG Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin), and MTN Nigeria CEO, Karl Toriola.

President Tinubu Commends Wike for Bringing Governance Closer to FCT Residents

President Bola Tinubu has praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for transforming communities and bringing governance closer to residents across the territory.

Represented by House Speaker Abbas Tajudeen at the inauguration of newly constructed roads in Giri, Tinubu said Wike’s leadership is turning the Renewed Hope Agenda into visible progress across districts like Maitama, Gwagwalada, Kabusa, and now Giri.

“This is more than road construction—it’s about connecting people to opportunity,” Tinubu said.

Wike highlighted Giri’s potential, noting that the area hosts the University of Abuja and EFCC Academy, and pledged to provide more infrastructure to attract development.
