Well, it has happened.
The UNITED KINGDOM in a rather dramatic turn of events, has rolled out immigration policies that have left many NIGERIANS and other immigrants especially lovebirds and japa hopefuls utterly speechless.

Here are KEY UPDATES;
1. Extended Residency Requirement for Settlement
Migrants must now reside in the UK for 10 years before being eligible for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), doubling the previous 5 year requirement.
2. Ban on Overseas Recruitment in the Care Sector
Care homes are prohibited from hiring staff from abroad, a move expected to reduce migration by approximately 50,000 annually.
3. Stricter English Language Requirements
All adult dependents must meet higher English language standards to qualify for visas, emphasizing integration.
4. Digital ID and E-Visa Implementation
A new digital ID system and electronic visas (e-visas) are being introduced to monitor migrants’ legal status and ensure compliance with visa conditions.
5. Restriction on Skilled Worker Visas
Skilled worker visas are now limited to graduate-level occupations, encouraging employers to invest in local workforce training.
