We are talking hefty financial demands, stricter visa categories, and the not so subtle message; BRING VALUE, OR STAY BACK.

As of May 2025, the UK government has introduced significant changes to its IMMIGRATION POLICIES, aiming to reduce net migration and address public concerns.

Here are KEY UPDATES;

1. Extended Residency Requirement for Settlement

Migrants must now reside in the UK for 10 years before being eligible for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), doubling the previous 5 year requirement.

2. Ban on Overseas Recruitment in the Care Sector

Today, April 28, 2025, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja sentenced Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late gospel singer OSINACHI NWACHUKWU, to deat h by hanging for her murde r.

Here are key details about the case;

- JUSTICE NJIDEKA NWOSU-IHEME found PETER NWACHUKWU guilt y of culpable homicide, determining that his actions led to OSINACHI’S deat h on April 8, 2022.

- The prosecution, led by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, filed a 23 count charge against NWACHUKWU.
These charges included culpable homicide punishable by deat h, spousal batte ry, crueltyy to children, and criminalllll intimidationnnnn.

- During the trial, the prosecution presented 17 witnesses, including two of the couple’s children, and submitted 25 documents as evidence. The defence called five witnesses, including NWACHUKWU himself, and tendered four exhibits.

- Beyond the deat h sentence on Count 1, NWACHUKWU received various other penalties:
• 2 years’ imprisonmentttt each on Counts 2, 3, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 18.
• 6 months’ imprisonmenttttt on Count 10.
• 3 years’ imprisonmenttttt on Count 11.
• Fines of ₦500,000 and ₦200,000 on Counts 6 and 7, respectively.

- Before sentencing, NWACHUKWU’S counsel, REGINALD NWALI, pleaded for leniency.

However, the prosecution, represented by Mrs. ADERONKE IMALA, urged the court to apply the law strictly.
JUSTICE NWOSU-IHEME upheld the prosecution’s position, leading to the deat h sentence.

This case has drawn significant attention in Nigeria, highlighting issues of domestic violenceeeeeee and the legal system’s response to such matters.

She was called SHIMITE BELLO, a devoted public servant and the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export.

Her sudden deat h sent shockwaves across the nation, leaving many in disbelief and grief.

In the immediate aftermath, as is often the case in an emotionally charged society, speculation filled the void of truth.

Wild rumou rs took flight with disturbing ease.

Allegations were made.

Finge rs were pointed.

The cour t of public opinion, with its ever hasty verdicts, condemne d without trial.

I remember asking; how can a woman of this height sit and allow her self to be poisone d?

Yes, it has been officially announced that POPE FRANCIS passed away this morning, April 21, 2025, at 7:35 AM in Vatican City.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Vatican camerlengo, confirmed the news, stating, At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father.

His entire life was dedicated to the service of the LORD and of HIS CHURCH.

POPE FRANCIS, born JORGE MARIO BERGOGLIO, was 88 years old at the time of his passing.

He was the first Latin American POPE and led the CATHOLIC CHURCH from 2013 until his deat h.

His papacy was marked by efforts to reform the Church, advocate for the marginalized, and address contemporary global issues.

I remain quite baffled by the outrage over PAPAYA EX’s outfit to PRISCILLA’s wedding.

Personally?
I found absolutely nothing amiss with her ensemble.

In fact, allow me to celebrate it.

It was a delightful sartorial statement!

To be candid…
I love it!
