The last time the world would see Chief MKO Abiola Alive.

Their meeting took place amidst negotiations for the release of Abiola, who had been a political detainee since 1994.
In a video of the Oputa Panel (Nigeria's Human Rights Violations Investigation Commission), Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana cross examined Major AM Aliyu who was the security officer in charge of the late Chief MKO Abiola.
Major Aliyu was one of the last persons to see the late Chief MKO Abiola after his meeting with the βAmerica Delegatesβ who came to meet him at the βAguda Houseβ.
Chief MKO Abiola died suddenly 07 July, 1998 after the meeting. Documented facts around his death remains a mystery till date.
The commission submitted its final report to President Obasanjo in 2002, but the government has not taken any action to date. Its report was not released to the public until 2005, when it was published by two activist groups, the Nigerian Democratic Movement and Nigeria-based Civil Society Forum
