Shettima to unveil biography of Late Brigadier Musa Usman

Vice-President Kashim Shettima will on Monday unveil a posthumous biography of the late Brigadier Musa Usman, the pioneer Military Governor of the former North-Eastern State.

The 363-page book, titled Brigadier Musa Usman (1940–1991): Service and Impact, will be presented at the NAF Conference Centre, Kado, Abuja, from 10:00am.

NNPCL to roll out 70 smart fuel stations across Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd., NNPC Ltd., says it plans to roll out between 50 and 70 smart self-service fuelling stations across the country within the next six months.

Dr Mumuni Dagazau, Executive Vice President, Downstream, NNPC Ltd., disclosed this on Thursday at the commissioning of the NNPC Retail Ltd. smart mega fuelling station in Abuja.

The # reports that the station, powered by a 200-kilowatt-hour solar system, is located along Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, between the Flight Training School and the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, Headquarters, Abuja.

The Police Command in Kaduna has explained the circumstances surrounding the dispersal of a crowd carrying African Democratic Congress, ADC, banners in Kaduna metropolis.

A statement by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Mansir Hassan, on Thursday in Kaduna said the incident occurred on Wednesday following a distress call from security personnel attached to Murtala Square that some persons were attempting to forcefully gain entry into the premises.

He said police personnel were immediately deployed to the location to prevent a breach of security and maintain public order.

Nigerian Customs admits physical checks take hours as cargoes spend 5 days at ports

The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has admitted that physical examination of containers at the ports takes only a few hours, even as cargoes spend an average of five days before exiting the port.

The revelation followed a Time Release Study conducted at the Tin Can Island Port, Lagos, as part of efforts by the service to identify the real causes of delays in cargo clearance.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, disclosed this on Thursday in Lagos at the NCS Post-Clearance Audit, PCA, Sensitisation Programme, with the theme, “PCA Reform for Greater Compliance, Transparency and Revenue Protection.”

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has approved 32 banks, fintech firms, mobile network operators and investment platforms to handle subscriptions for its shares.

The company disclosed this on Thursday on its official Initial Public Offering, IPO, website ahead of the opening of its public offer.

It said the approved channels comprised 19 banks, 10 fintech companies, two mobile network operators and NGX Invest.

Ondo begins payment of N3.9bn gratuity to 1,038 LG retirees

The Ondo State Government has commenced the payment of N3.897 billion in gratuities to 1,038 local government employees and primary school teachers who retired in 2016.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the flag-off ceremony in Akure on Thursday, described the payment as “an earned right and not a favour or political largesse.”
