2027: Umaru Bature's Leadership Qualities Can Rebuild, Help PDP Recover Lost Glory

No doubt, the once largest and most strongest political party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
has been going through series of turbulent moments lately.

This is more so that, some perceived enemies from outside the party's rank are bent on ensuring a total collapse of the PDP at all cost, while others are enemies within whose motivations to cause chaos in the party is driven by self ego, lack of sportsmanship, discipline and transfer of aggression.

The PDP which still holds it's head high as the only political party that has not change its name, logo, identity, mission and vision since the return to democracy in 1999, controls Nigeria's Presidency uninterruptedly for 16 years (1999-2015) before being defeated by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2015 being a merger of about 5 political parties.

The PDP, since after losing presidency in 2015 have been struggling with how to restore it's lost glory.

And to make this dream a reality, the PDP now, more than ever before need a National chairman who is not just vast and grounded in national politics but also equiped with adminstrative and strategic transformational prowess.

Being the custodian of a political party's vision, discipline, and long-term survival, the Chairmanship position of any party that is truly ready to achieve result must not be compromised on the alters of frivolities, rather a deeper retrospection on whose capacity can provide the desired victory.

And taking a closer look at all the national officers of the PDP at the moment, one name that will attract wider acceptability in the minds of Nigerians and beyond for now is none other than Honourable Umaru Bature.

Honourable Umaru Bature's name will always stand tall like the Iroko tree because his wealth of experience as valuable retired senior military officer, House of Representative Member, State Commissioner and National Organizing Secretary of the PDP, his headship of the party will shape the party’s ideological direction, influence it's values, tone, and message in conformity with evolving national realities.

Hon. Umaru Bature who hails from Sokoto State, North West, the geopolitical region with the highest voting strenght in Nigeria has all it takes to ensure not just organizational stability for the party, but also unity, maintain it's composure and address any issue capable of generating factionalism even before it rear ugly heads.

As the National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Tambuwal Magnanimous in Victory, Promises Inclusive Government

In the wake of his affirmation as the substantive governor of Sokoto state by the state Court of Appeal Friday, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has promised members of opposition in the state to joined hands with him to run an inclusive government.

Tambuwal stated this while briefing newsmen shortly after the Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto upheld his election as the duly elected governor of the state.

Earlier in the day, in a lead judgement delivered by Justice Hussaini Muhtar, who read the judgement on behalf of three of his colleagues, dismissed the six appeals filed by the gubernatorial candidate of APC and upheld the judgement of the electoral petitions tribunal, thus affirming the election of Gov. Tambuwal.

The governor while dedicating his victory to God, urged people of the state to intensify prayers for continuous peace and prosperity of the state. He also appealed to them to join hands with him in the project of its continuous building .

The governor reminded the opposition that power belongs to God who gives it to whom he desires reminding them that "we have no other state but Sokoto, so the task of building it belongs to all of us."

Tambuwal expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their support and sustained prayers for the success of his administration.

Dogara admonishes Christians to walk in Christ's footsteps, pray for Nigeria

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara, has felicitated with Christians on the occasion of the marking of the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a statement issuesld by his Special Adviser on Media & Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, the speaker urged Christian to walk in Christ's footsteps of love and peace towards one another, their neigbours and to humanity as a whole.

Dogara noted that faithful adherence to the virtues of Jesus Christ, including love, unity, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence, which constitute the fundamental ingredients for development of any nation, will lead to the growth and stability of Nigeria.

He admonished Christians to use this period as one for sober reflection on the a cute challenges facing the nation and to see how they could apply the virtues of Jesus Christ in fashioning out workable measures aimed at pulling Nigeria out of the quagmire she has found herself in at this critical time .

While wishing everyone a happy celebration, Dogara assured Nigerians that the House of Representatives is working tirelessly to ensure that the promises in the Change Agenda are delivered for the benefit of all Nigerians in the shortest possible time.

Maulud: Dogara urges Muslims to pray for Nigeria

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of 2016 Eid Maulud to mark the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammed.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, the Speaker charged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the remembrance and celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed to imbibe and promote the virtues of humility, love, peace, harmony and mutual co-existence which the prophet exemplified.

He noted that as this year’s Eid-el-Maulud comes just a couple of weeks before the end of the year 2016, Muslims and all Nigerians should seize the opportunity to offer special prayers for the unity, progress and prosperity of Nigeria and for the country to overcome its current economic challenges as we march into the new year.

" Maulud Nabiyy is a special period that calls for sober reflections and special prayers to the Almighty for our leaders at all levels for God's wisdom and guidance" .

Jibrin is running away from prosecution

My attention has been drawn to a statement issued by the suspended member Abdulmumin Jibrin who has fled to United Kingdom.

Jibrin's allegation that his life is under threat is laughable and foolish

I understand that the anti-graft agencies are closing in on him with their investigation into his past deeds.

He might have got the hint of his possible and prosecution and decided to flee while raising false alarm.

May I remind him that no matter where he goes justice will surely catch up with him as there is no hiding place for criminals in our today's world.
