Prince Adewoye Meets Isin APC Stakeholders, Harps on Unity, Urges Support for Party Candidates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kwara South Senatorial District, Prince Olalekan Adewoye, has called on party leaders, stakeholders and members in Isin Local Government Area to close ranks, resolve lingering differences and work together towards the success of the party in the 2027 general elections.

Prince Adewoye made the appeal during his visit to an APC reconciliation meeting held at the Isin Local Government Legislative Building, where he engaged party leaders, stakeholders and members as part of his ongoing consultations across Kwara South.

Speaking at the meeting, the senatorial candidate commended the reconciliation initiative, describing unity and mutual understanding as essential to building a stronger and more formidable APC.

He urged party members to put past disagreements behind them, embrace dialogue and prioritise the collective interest of the party, stressing that internal cohesion would be critical to securing victory in the forthcoming elections.

Prince Adewoye also charged APC stakeholders and members in Isin to support all the party's candidates across the various levels of the 2027 elections, noting that the success of each candidate would contribute to the overall strength and electoral fortunes of the party.

He specifically canvassed support for the aspiration of the Northern Senatorial District for the 2027 governorship, urging stakeholders across Kwara South to work together in support of the cause.

He specifically called on party members to support Rt. Hon. Saliu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) as Governor, Yeye Florence Olasumbo Oyeyemi, the APC candidate for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, and the party's House of Assembly candidate in Isin.

According to him, the APC could only achieve its desired electoral victory when its members remained united and committed to a common purpose, rather than allowing individual differences and grievances to weaken the party's structures.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange views on reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation and strategies for strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Prince Adewoye reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, inclusiveness and cooperation among APC members across Kwara South, noting that a united party would be better positioned to provide effective representation and deliver meaningful development to the people.

The Kwara South Senatorial Candidate was accompanied on the visit by Chief Teju Oguntoye, Alhaji Kale Ayobola and other prominent members of the Adewoye campaign team.

PRINCE ADEWOYE MEETS IFELODUN APC STAKEHOLDERS, SEEKS UNITY, SUPPORT FOR APC CANDIDATES AHEAD OF 2027

Prince Olalekan Adewoye, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Kwara South Senatorial District, has appealed to aggrieved members of the party in Ifelodun Local Government Area to embrace reconciliation, unity and collective commitment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adewoye made the appeal on Monday when he met with critical APC stakeholders in Ifelodun Local Government as part of his ongoing consultations with party leaders and members across Kwara South.

He thanked the leadership and members of the Ifelodun APC chapter for their support during the APC Senatorial Primary, stressing that the political strength and strategic importance of the local government, with its 18 wards, could not be underestimated.

The APC candidate called on members who may have grievances arising from the primary election or other party-related issues to put such differences behind them in the larger interest of the party and the collective progress of Kwara South.

Adewoye also appealed to the stakeholders to support all APC candidates contesting elective positions across the district in the 2027 elections, including candidates for the State House of Assembly and House of Representatives.

He stressed that the success of the party would depend on collective support for all its candidates, urging party members to work together to secure victory at all levels.

Speaking on the 2027 governorship election, Prince Adewoye said it was only fair for Kwara South to support the aspiration for power to shift to Kwara North, noting that such a gesture would strengthen the spirit of equity and political understanding across the three senatorial districts.

He expressed optimism that supporting the current power rotation arrangement would also create a stronger foundation for Kwara South to achieve a similar political opportunity in the future.

Adewoye also spoke passionately about his senatorial aspiration, assuring the stakeholders that he remained committed to providing effective representation and would not disappoint the people who had entrusted their mandate to him.

Earlier, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal, a prominent member of the Adewoye team, introduced the APC stakeholders from Ifelodun to Adewoye's Team eam.

The Director-General of the LAF Support Group, Kayode Towoju Esq, explained the purpose of the meeting, noting that the engagement was part of efforts to deepen consultations, strengthen party unity and address issues capable of affecting the party's success in 2027.

The meeting subsequently opened the floor for comments, observations and reactions from the stakeholders, who raised a number of salient issues. Some of the concerns were addressed by Prince Adewoye, who assured the stakeholders of his commitment to continued dialogue and inclusive engagement.

The meeting formed part of Adewoye's broader consultations across Kwara South aimed at fostering unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

PRINCE ADEWOYE MOURNS PASSING OF COMMUNITY LEADER, EX-IREPODUN COUNCIL CHAIR, CHIEF TEJU ADEYEMI

Prince Olalekan Adewoye, APC Candidate for Kwara South Senatorial District, has expressed sadness over the passing of Chief Teju Adeyemi, a respected lawyer, banker, entrepreneur, community leader and former Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government.

Prince Adewoye described Chief Teju Adeyemi as a distinguished son of Igbomina and Kwara State who lived a life of integrity, excellence and service.

He said the deceased made valuable contributions to the development of Irepodun, Igbomina and Kwara State through his professional, business, political and community engagements.

“Chief Teju Adeyemi lived a life of great accomplishments and service. His contributions as a lawyer, banker, entrepreneur and former council chairman will remain part of his lasting legacy.

“His death is a great loss to his family, Irepodun Local Government, Igbomina land and Kwara State.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, associates and all who knew him. May Almighty God comfort the family, give them the strength to bear the loss and grant Chief Teju Adeyemi eternal rest,” Prince Adewoye said.

He also prayed that God preserves the worthy legacy of the late community leader and grant his loved ones the fortitude to cope with his passing.

‎A Note of Regret: Kwara Central Deserves Better Than Political Betrayal

‎If want to be sincere and honest as a citizen of Kwara State and a constituent of Kwara Central Senatorial District, I write with a heavy heart and painful regret.
‎
‎We once had quality representation in the Red Chamber. Senator Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe gave Kwara Central 4 years of diligent, issue-based representation from 2019 to 2023. He was accessible, data-driven, and focused on legislation and oversight.
‎
‎Under his watch, Kwara Central saw:
‎
‎Bills and motions focused on health, education, and constituent welfare. As Chairman Senate Committee on Health, he was instrumental in pushing the National Health Insurance Authority Act and other health sector reforms that benefited Nigerians broadly, including our people at home.
‎
‎Town halls, empowerment programs, and direct engagement with community leaders across Ilorin East, Ilorin West, Ilorin South, Asa and Moro LGAs.
‎
‎A working relationship with the state government that prioritized Kwara’s development over personal rivalry.
‎
‎Then came the 2023 internal party process. Painfully, the APC chose a different flagbearer for Kwara Central. Senator Salihu Mustapha emerged.
‎
‎As party men and women, we painstakingly accepted the decision. Why? Because we recognized and accepted party supremacy. We swallowed the pain for the sake of unity, for the sake of APC, and for the sake of continuity under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. We campaigned, we voted, and we moved on.
‎
‎Today, by all indications, the representation gap is clear.
‎
‎Compared to Senator Oloriegbe’s 4 years, the current tenure has been marked by low visibility at the Senate, fewer legislative initiatives of note, and most critically, an unhealthy relationship with the Governor. Instead of synergy for Kwara’s development, what we see is rivalry over leadership and positioning.
‎
‎That is not what Kwara Central voted for. We voted for service, not for ego.
‎
‎To put things in perspective, many of us in Kwara Central still remember the 2019 election. Senator Oloriegbe of Otoge led by Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq defeated a 16-year incumbent, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
‎
‎The reason was simple: constituents wanted a shift from dynasty politics to performance politics. By antecedent, Oloriegbe’s 4 years as Senator were defined by committee work, legislative contributions, and focus on governance. In terms of direct senatorial output and connection to APC’s new structure in Kwara post-2019, his political worth to Kwara Central at that moment was widely rated higher by party members who wanted a clean break and new energy.
‎
‎That is why it would be deeply unfortunate, and a betrayal of that mandate, to now see Senator Oloriegbe “tie shoe” for the very same Saraki to fight against the same APC that gave both men (Oloriegbe and Mustapha) their biggest political opportunities.
‎
‎Let it be said plainly: it would be very wrong and disappointing for anyone who benefited from party supremacy in 2023 to now abandon the party because of personal grievance.
‎
‎It may cost such a person the exact pain party stakeholders experienced in 2023 when a sitting senator was stepped down. Except this time, the pain would be doubled — because it would be coming after 2 years of underwhelming performance and unnecessary friction with the state government.
‎
‎Kwara Central cannot afford to be used as a pawn in personal battles. We need senators who will work with the Governor, not against him. We need representatives who will bring projects, not bring drama.
‎
‎Party supremacy demands loyalty in victory and in disappointment. We accepted it in 2023. We expect the same now.
‎
‎To move to another party today would not be strategy. It would be ingratitude. And the people of Kwara Central, who gave you the mandate, will remember.
‎
‎Kwara deserves continuity. Kwara Central deserves performance. And APC deserves loyalty.
